This is the original Lebanese Taverna, in the Westover section of Arlington, Virginia where we go when we have a hankering for authentic Lebanese food. I'm giving the original restaurant only three stars instead of five because its carryout off Lee Highway in zipcode 22207 an unhealthy smelly untrustworthy version of what it used to be. One whiff of the... More

We had an outstanding meal for two on our recent visit. We shared a classic traditional hommus with wonderful warm bread. I was hoping for a schwarma, which was not available, but the recommended lamb kabob was perhaps the best I've had outside of the Middle East -- the Lebanese rice was excellent also. My daughter had the falafel salad... More

My husband & I met here on a blind date 20 years ago. The quality of the food & service have never disappointed us. My favorite is the Kibbeh & Lamb Fetteh. He loves their lamb anything, but especially the kebab. In all this time they've stayed up to date with their decor & varied the food choices. Authentic Lebanese... More

We went here at the beginning of dinner hour on a Thursday evening to celebrate our anniversary and we were disappointed. There were other diners, but not too busy. It took a while to get menus, then our drink order and then to finally order. My falafel salad was three falafels, crudely chopped romaine and loads and loads of parsley... More

Lebanese Taverna is a staple in Washington Dc. It's our goto place. We love the appetizer platter and the kids always want an extra order of the tzatziki. My daughter loves the lamb shank - well of all of us love it. The dining room isn't huge but we always have a great meal and love to come back.

The restaurant is located across from the Westover Market and post office off Washington Blvd and is nestled in with several other really good family owned eateries. We walked in just before the usual dinner hours for some good food and we weren't disappointed. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken right away. This visit we had a... More

I've been going to this location for decades, but it had been a long time, so I was really looking to celebrating my child's birthday there. We arrived at 6:50 for our 7:00 reservation. seated somewhat promptly, ordered apps (spanakopita and calamari. calamari was ok; spanakopita was excellent) that arrived promptly but, as others have noted in their reviews, it... We live nearby Lebanese Taverna and like to order take out from there. I love the falafel sandwich. My husbands favorite is shawarma. Hands down, they make THE BEST garlic hummus ever. The accompanying fresh pita bread is divine. Sometimes we just want to make a meal of just the hummus! The tabbouleh, spinach fatayer and arnabeet are delicious. Lebanese... More

Our group arrived about 6:30 on Thursday evening and we were seated immediately. We stuck with ice water and homemade pita with dipping oil and took our time studying the menu as only one of us had been here before. Our picks: beef/lamb shawarma with a salad for my husband. He said the spices were good but said that the... More

Reached the restaurant a little before 6:00 tonight, was seated about 6:00, received water about 6:10, ordered mezza and entrees (taverna combo and the lamb sharhat) and then the wait began. Received the mezza at 6:30. Received the lamb sharhat at 6:50, went back to the server's station at 6:55 to ask where the taverna combo platter was (my wife's... More
