Vermilion features Chef William Morris' menu of Contemporary American cuisine. Complimenting Chef Morris' menu is Vermilion's wine list, named one of the top wine lists in the country by Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. Combining a charming location in Old town Alexandria with stylized design and atmosphere, Vermilion represents a bit of downtown sophistication: from the exposed brick in the upstairs dining room to the overstuffed pillows in the lounge downstairs, Vermilion holds something for all tastes.

Cozy, romantic restaurant. Very friendly staff and everyone is knowledgeable about the menu items. Very easily accessible via metro and the free King street shuttles. The food was delicious. We had the steak and my wife the lamb 2 ways. Very well done and expertly...More
Excellent fine dining service. Our server really knew the menu, and explained it in such a way that I wanted to taste everything. The lamb, 2 ways, was superb. Also the ice creams where so delicious and creamy.
We have been here a few times and the food is fine but not outstanding.

Just two of us stopped in between lunch and dinner times, and we had a lovely experience. We sat at the bar, and were given a full menu and excellent service.
There were not many vegetarian options available, but what we had was fabulous. A...More

Yup, as Richard said, it is a crowded area--street parking is hard to score, and I was lucky (but it took 15 minutes). As you move a few blocks away it gets better. I was driving several hobbled seniors, so I was able to... More
Yup, as Richard said, it is a crowded area--street parking is hard to score, and I was lucky (but it took 15 minutes). As you move a few blocks away it gets better. I was driving several hobbled seniors, so I was able to find a handicap spot. There are several pay lots in the area. Good luck and enjoy--the food was wonderful!
