You can't go wrong when you eat at the Tavern - the ambiance alone is just wonderful and the food is excellent ! The owner is always on-site when we dine there and always a great host. Dessert is amazing and most always, cannot resist. A great place to dine before visiting the Barter Theater.

The rave reviews Of The Tavern did not disappoint. We skipped starters and went to entrees and dessert. Scrumptious! The host is a consummate gentleman!

We were seated immediately, having made a reservation. The Tavern is very quaint and has great ambience. The server was very pleasant and reviewed the daily specials and gave recommendations when asked. The food was very good and the portions were very generous. This is a place I will visit again when in the area!

We enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Tavern last week. We've visited before for Oktoberfest, but not for a regular non-event meal. The food was incredible and the service was great too! The black and bleu filet was among the best steaks I've ever tasted! The menu offered a great assortment of American foods and a few German selections as... More

We so hoped to eat at this restaurant as it holds special memories from over 10 years ago! We made a reservation by calling. When we arrived, we waited at the hostess stand for 10 minutes. That should have been a warning right there. Servers and manager walked by a few times, but no one greeted us. Finally after about... More

Dining at The Tavern was perfect on a beautiful fall day after taking in a play at the Barter Theatre. The oldest building in Abingdon is quite charming. I found myself imagining all that has taken place in this lovely building. The food was great and the service excellent. It is a perfect place to celebrate your most special occasions!

The Tavern is an upscale restaurant located in the oldest building in Abingdon. The menu items are pricey but everything is delicious and the service is always top notch!

Stuffed filet in a glazed Marsala reduction with shrimp, ricotta, bacon, and herb creams cheese for the hubby with mixed vegetables and filet medallions with blue cheese and a port wine reduction for me. I have to say, probably the best cooked steak I've ever had. And the flavor, I just can't even find words for that. Be sure to... More
