About
Italic is a rustic Italian offering from renowned chef Andrew Curren of ELM Restaurant Group (24 Diner, Easy Tiger Bake Shop & Beer Garden, Irene's). Centrally located in downtown Austin, this approachable restaurant is open daily for lunch, happy hour and dinner. Start with antipasti selections ranging from cured meats, Italian cheeses, olives and house-marinated produce to house-baked focaccia. Next, select a rustic pizza or entrée such as roasted half chicken or Florence-style T-bone steak, all of which are made in our top-of-the-line American-built pizza oven. Farm-to-table selections include seasonally rotating pastas - perfect with a cocktail or selection from our 100-percent Italian wine list curated by Master Sommelier Craig Collins.

Great location other than lack of cheaper parking. Walkable to many other things to do in Austin. Food was good. No real complaints. Service was good as well.

I was by myself on a work-related trip, and this restaurant was perfect. Young staff were kind and efficient , not too intrusive and helpful. I had a nice negroni without rush, and then pasta with ragu and a light red that my server recommended....More

A group of us went during a recent conference with an Italian and two vegetarians in our group. Two ordered carbonara, 3 pizzas, and the other two bucatini All’Amatriciana. Apparently the carbonara was good (the Italian was glad they hadn't put cream in), and the...More

Italic is located at the "quiet" end of 6th street, but an easy walk from the more lively end that visitors might be more familiar with. The format of the menu is simple and straightforward, offering a nice selection of mains, pastas, and pizzas, among...More

The bread and tea are delicious. I was in the mood for traditional Italian food. There is none there. The dishes are very hipster and twisted in strange ways just to make them “different.” For example, the cheese in my ravioli had lemon in it....More
