The modest exterior is deceiving. Inside are a bazillion people heartily enjoying a great breakfast. The menu has good variety and excellent value. The daily specials are tantalizing (one of four today: chicken tamales with salsa verde and two eggs) and our coffee mugs stayed full. What's not to love? The grits. Don't bother with the grits. After the rich,... More

My husband and I have been going to this busy neighborhood diner for years. They have great down home food with big portions, and the prices aren't bad either. The staff have always been very friendly, courteous and prompt, whether we're dining in or doing take out. They don't really deep fry things here, and there are some good healthy... More

My mom would always tell me she wanted me to try this place and I kept putting it off because I didn't want to try anything new. Well, when she finally got me to go, this is now our weekly spot for breakfast . On my days off, she and I will go and sometimes I get the usual (... More

I've been here for many breakfasts, for lunch, and for dinner. Always top notch food, service, and prices. They have a daily special board, and it's worth it to just choose something from off of that menu. Their banana pancakes are fabulous. The poached eggs are done perfectly, although sometimes too much water in the bowl they put them in.... More

Stopped in by accident was looking for Austin Java, I am very happy I stopped in. The service was great, my daughter's hot coco was terrific something I might order as an adult. The Guatemalan coffee blend was a perfect medium roast. The Chai tea late was also terrific.

A local alerted me to Cafe Java, and what a great tip it was! Located in an anonymous mall is this gem of a diner, where I ended up having breakfast five days straight during this year's SxSW conference/festival. The service is excellent and fast, the food is generously served and tastes amazing, and the unexplainable "x-factor" is definitely there,... More

Like a throwback to greenwich village NYC. Lots of cool people using the wifi, eating veggie dishes, and enjoying the day.

We always look forward to breakfast at Cafe Java. Place is always packed. In old times we would go for dine-in. But now since some of us cannot make it to the place we order food to go. They pack the food so well!! Separating everything with foil. Made to order. They cater to our needs. Each employee is very... More
