Very good steakhouse but nothing exceptioal. The staff was friendly and the service quick. The salads were large and quickly delivered. The steaks were cooked as ordered and nothing great about the flavor. I prefer a seasoned steak but mine was fine. Good restaurant to visit if in the area.

We stopped by here for lunch on our visit to Austin because my sister's original planned lunch didn't actually open until dinner. Oh well. This place was nearby and she said it was pretty good. We waited a while for someone to come out and acknowledge we were there so we could be seated - definitely not something I'm used... More

Steaks were good quality and cooked perfectly. Try the smoked sirloin which was the prize tonight! I had the southwestern chicken salad which was just ok, the chicken was cold and lacked flavor. Steak is where it's at!

Several of these restaurants in town - all are very good. The service is very good, the steaks are great. Try sharing a porterhouse like we did - awesome! Good salads and desserts. Nice atmosphere - not snooty, no peanut shells on the floor, no screaming sports TV. Yes very good steaks!

Over the years I have eaten at several Texas Land & Cattle Steak Houses with generally positive results. My most recent visit to the restaurant on South Mopac in Austin really didn't measure up to previous dining experiences. First, the place is loud; it is difficult to carry on a conversation in a normal tone of voice, and it was... More

We ask the hotel staff for a nearby place to go and have a steak dinner. This was the restaurant that was recommended. It was a little difficult to find but once we arrived, we enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner. There really isn't much of a steak selection but the NY Strip was very good. The layout of the restaurant... TXLC (the I35 north location) was the first restaurant I visited during my first visit to Austin. I wanted to order a sirloin steak, but the waiter recommended the smoked sirloin, instead. I "obliged", and have never ordered anything else in that restaurant ever since. I have since left Austin, after having lived there for two years, and visited only... More

Went to Texas Land and Cattle for dinner. It is a nice place to eat. The hostess seated us quickly and our waitress was great. She made sure we got our drinks quickly and gave us time to look at the menu. She also asked us if we had any questions about the menu. Once we ordered we were given... More

Their freshly baked (not microwaved) bread is delicious! Their smoked sirloin, besides being economical, is very tasty.

It never fails with this place; they always serve the best steaks in town and always a pleasant experience. This particular location needs a new makeover to uplift it and make it hip again. Their New York strip is the best and their string onion appetizer is delicious!
