My family of 4 had lunch here on a Friday afternoon because it's close to the convention center. It was almost empty and after tasting the food, I see why. The chips were yellow and obviously from a bag. Queso tasted like it was straight out of a jar. In fact, I had to mix it with the salsa to... More

Visiting from Dallas and came here..The food was decent but the kitchen staff could only get one order right out of the two we placed. I had to end up leaving for an engagement a few blocks away and had to leave my fiance at the table because they couldnt get our order correct.

I love trying new places and this one did not disappoint. The guacamole was perfect and the Sopes were very delicious. Good cocktail options that went perfectly with the cuisine.

We visited here yesterday, and had the best food! I had the grilled chicken breast with chipotle sauce that was to die for. The avocados on top added just the right taste. And the black beans...heaven! (and I'm not a super fan of beans!) Others in our party had shrimp tacos and shrimp diablo. Everyone was raving about the food!... More

What a wonderful restaurant! It is by far one of our favorite places to eat. My daughter loves the rice and beans and queso. I love the mole enchiladas...the best in all of Texas! The team members at El Sol y La Luna are not only professional, but down to earth and adult and kid-friendly.

We stopped here for a late lunch and lucky for us it was happy hour! I had a couple of Mexican Martinis (Don't judge, I'm on vacation!) and Mrs. M had a glass of wine, all at $4.00 each. We had the Happy Hour chicken empanadas. When they came out they looked "manufactured" but they were delightfully tasty! We also... More

We stopped in for lunch on the weekend. It wasn't crowded and the atmosphere was nice. Since we weren't very hungry, we shared an order of the Carnitas Tacos. Carnitas is shredded pork. We both thought the tacos were excellent! Chips and salsa were very good. Service was fine. Prices were good. I would definitely go back there.

We went as a large group on an evening during the week. There was a special program, so it was a bit crowded and noisy. The food was good, but in a city like Austin, that's not good enough. There simply wasn't anything special about it, and the sangria (admittedly not an adventurous drink) was quite ordinary. Service was excellent.... More

When we want to spend a lazy day shopping on SoCo, we always start with breakfast at El Sol y La Luna. They do not serve huge portions, thank goodness, but just right ones. So we aren't overstuffed as we trapes up and down South Congress.

Tried to find a place to eat on a Friday night on 6th street in downtown Austin: three other places were loud and crowded. El Sol had several tables occupied, but was relatively quiet except for the wonderful Disco 70's music playing. Server was extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent Pork Enchiladas and Shrimp Enchiladas. Margarita on the rocks was great.
