Went there cause I've seen it ages ago, and hadn't the time to come here at lunch time. But not this time. What I liked the most is that as soon as you go in, you do not feel as if you're entering a chain restaurant. Thank god for that. Kind of tired of the same type of restaurant with... More

The fish, shrimp, and oysters were all wonderfully fried in a cornmeal batter. I don't usually go for fried foods, but it was suggested by my friend. I was not disappointed!!!

I love this institution , the bar is old and comfortable . The waitstaff was friendly and last time I got a poboy, which was very tasty. Just a fun, relaxed place that Saint's fans gathering and cheer that makes me feel like I'm watching the game at a bar in uptown NOLA.

This is a must for most of our Austin trips. I've been going here for 15 years and I love it every single time. Great place to sit outside and watch a game and drink beer, and then when you get hungry every single thing on their menu is top notch. The classic cajun cuisine they offer is hands down... More

Very Texan I think, as a European. Great atmosphere, good food - not only the crawfish, and reasonably priced. We went back a lot of times and will for sure visit if we are in Austin.

Food was good. Crawfish were just as I hoped they'd be. Shrimp Gumbo was mighty spicy. Son's Shrimp Po Boy was just right. I could tell it was a busy place but we were there in between normal meal times so we were seated quickly and had good service.

We were regular patrons here for 15 years every Sunday to watch New Orleans Saints football games. "Regulars," as they say. Over the years, the prices inched up to the point we could no longer justify spending over 3 hours there every Sunday. The food's "good" but not excellent, and the service is good as long as the place isn't... More

It was my first visit to Shoal Creek Saloon, I'll probably be back. I went there specifally for the Crawdaddys in season. They were good and very reasonably priced they could have been seasoned more for my liking.

Felt like a bit of New Orleans inside Austin, TX. It was cool for lunch, nothing over the top. The crawfish had a little kick in the spice which I like. It is a busy place, so have your order ready to go, and be patient and have a drink because the crawfish takes some a bit of time to... More

We stopped in between our shopping at Tomlinson's Pet Store & Waterloo Records. Excellent catfish & gumbo. Just as good as we've had in New Orleans & the beer was COLD like we like it! Staff was very personable & accommodating with the games/sports on the many TV screens. We will definitely visit them again we go back to Austin.
