Evangeline is truly a Cajun rage. We had pistolets and lunch specials. Food was fresh and tasty. Shrimp and fried oysters were excellent. Cafe is in a shopping center but once you get inside it looks like you are in Cajun country.

We ordered two orders of gumbo with rice for take out along with some potato salad. After arriving home we realized they'd given us all of 1/2 a small drinking cup of rice, hardly enough for even a child's portion. This is the skimpiest takeout...More

Fun little place kind of tucked away in a strip mall. But the food is good, the atmosphere is fun and casual, and the service was VERY good. I had the fried catfish basket with a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo. The catfish was...More

Nice casual atmosphere, friendly service and live music. Some reasonably tasty food helps too! Good fried pickles, jambalaya, stuffed pork chop all got good feedback from our group. Fair prices. Would return.

The food is great here but I often find myself avoiding it because it is carb heavy and usually fried. I'm trying to eat a little healthier nowadays! When I wasn't going for a healthy lifestyle, the catfish poboy was absolutely delicious! The owners really...More

In all fairness, this was not the kind of food I wanted for dinner. I'd been making some poor food choices the day before and that day, and I wanted to stay away from fried or creamy food. Pretty much everything I saw on the...More

We had a cup of gumbo (chicken and sausage) and a fried shrimp Po Boy for lunch. The Po Boy was good, but not great. However, the gumbo was the real deal. The best roux outside of Louisiana. This small restaurant is located in a...More
