Really enjoyed our meal at Uchi .. great menu, friendly competent staff (Stephanie looked after us really well) serving fresh and tasty food. A real array of dishes. Austin is lucky to have such a great restaurant.

This was an amazing experience - but it is an extremely popular restaurant. Make reservations at least one week in advance if not further out. If you can get reservations for happy hour - even better. The prices can be quite high for the menu, but the happy hour specials are excellent for trying a lot of different types of... More

We let our server Stephanie walk us through the menu. Her suggestions were fantastic. The yellowtail appetizer was great, we all loved the pork belly and the Brussels sprouts seriously were so good we wanted another round. Salty umami bombs. Amazing. Every dish was well balanced, with a great mixture of flavors. The menu is well balanced, plenty of fish... More

The food here is amazing. Delicious and unique. The portions and price are what's stopping me from giving them 5 stars. I have never left a sushi place so hungry. That being said the service is good and food is fresh. Uchi is an restaurant to experience, but there are definitely better values in Austin for equally good food.

Beautiful, super-fresh, sushi created as works of art rather than the usual rolls or sashimi. We had the tasting menu and every course was a delight. Each course was a single bowl to be shared by two, artfully done and oh so tasty. For food this place gets top marks. Unfortunately it is also very, very loud. On our visit... More

This was my first time in Uchi but I went with my daughter, who knew what to order, etc. I had some machi cure, yellow tail and onions, crunchy salmon, the seasonal fish (it was bass), brussel sprouts, roasted beets and a small batch (6) of yasai maki (vegetarian rolls). Also had some white wine.... Overall, everything was excellent and... More

My wife loves sushi and gets it when possible. Having lived most of my 68 years in New York and for the last 6 months in Chapel Hill, NC, we didn't think Austin could be that great. I always start explaining all my allergies to the waiter. Our waiter, Felipe, was remarkable and will do very well in life. He... More

We are sushi/sashimi regulars at both the finer and modest restaurants in New York City. The restaurant was crowded and loud on a Monday night. The menu is very different from what we are used to. You had grouping choices which are like small appetizing portions instead of ordering a mixed combo or a la carte. If you have a... More

And we live in the Bay Area and travel a lot! Amazing place: great atmosphere, delicious sushi. The escolar in particular was amazing, but all sashimi, making and Nigiri was excellent. We'd absolutely dine here again.

My wife and I came here a few weeks ago for an early birthday dinner while we were on vacation in Austin, and the food was incredible. We both splurged and got the chef's 10 course Omakase. Each dish was beautifully presented and the food was unbelievably good. I've attached some photos from our meal below. We definitely recommend this... More
