We attended the 1st Annual SXS 1st (South By South 1st) event at the Mary Street location. Since SXSW is in progress, Soup Peddler announced a "block party" w/adjoining businesses as an alternative. "No wrist bands required". I thought it was an interesting concept, and I have been wanting to try Soup Peddler since moving here a few months ago.... More

Soup Peddler is so good, and always dependably good. Recently had the flu, and the only thing that even sounded remotely good was their tortilla soup. Always fresh!

Battling off a cold from the long Halloween weekend, decided to give the ole peddler a try. We tried both the tomato basil soup and the chicken tortilla soup. Both really hit the spot. A little pricey for a cup of soup, but enjoyed it. The Busy Bee was a solid smoothie for the road with a unique blend of... More

If you want to have great soups and good sandwiches in Austin, this is the place. This is a fast food type of place, but there are tables to seat down. I recommend it.

Expensive ($15 for a bowl of soup!) and if it was freshly made, it didn't taste like it. Basically, the soup was ladled into a plastic bag for me to take home (since the only on-site eating is at outside tables) and microwave. Big change from home delivery. I won't go there again.

The Soup Peddler has cornered the market on great juices, smoothies, and soups on South Lamar in their unique little box shaped building. Fun for kids to play outside, and awesome to stop by for some delicious drinks, and take a salad or soup for lunch later! I admire the Soup Peddler for their outstanding cooking, and the way they... Too crowded everywhere else we tried to eat on Valentine's Day afternoon, so we happened to come upon the unpretentious Soup Peddler eatery in S. Austin. Set back from the street, this place is definitely "every day goodness" located in a cute, tree'd spot of South Austin. Friendly, helpful menu window service. My husband and I ordered some "all American... More

based on the tomato basil and vegetarian chilli we tried this place is OK but nothing special. Both dishes were hearty but the chilli somewhat too smokey and bland (yes,at the same time) and the tomato soup over seasoned with what tasted to us like dry herbs, notably oregano.

We were here to visit the South Austin Gallery on a very wet Texas day in November. Perfect weather to sample some great soup.

The juices are fresh and yummy- the soups are a great take home or eat on the spot. a lot of the snacks are raw and locally made. Quick service and always friendly staff.
