I'm no expert on Mexican food, not being local, but everything was fresh and tasty. Service was a little hit and miss, but we were in no hurry. Would go back.

One of my favorite things to eat is "ceviche de camaron" or shrimp ceviche. Takoba has the best in town; take my word for it. I've tried lots of others, and nothing has come close. My husband and I went to Takoba on a Sunday, arriving about 2:50. I ordered the ceviche and the waiter was kind enough to let... More

There's way better Mexican food in Austin. If you're already on the east side, check out tamale house instead of Takoba. The service was the worst I've had in quite a while....

I love this place because of the amazing Micheladas and authentic food. However, service is hit or miss. For example, today we had Kasandra. She was unfriendly and would just start grabbing plates with food still on them, then drinks we were done with without asking if we need anything else. She then abruptly dropped the check at our table... More

I love this East Austin bar. Use the side entrance to the Tavern. They have a happy hour menu with cocktails and dishes for $5 a piece! This side of Takoba also has TVs- if you are following a sporting event. No, you can't find a better happy hour till 9PM in one of the nices areas in town. The... More

I taught that I knew what to order but then I saw those "enchiladas with mole poblano" and those really changed my mind. And that watermelon "agua fresca", it is SO refreshing !!!! 👍🏼🍹🍈

Awesome sauce! No literally the sauce is awesome! Lol!! Chips and salsa were the great. Tacos were great! Chile relleno was a bit too sweet. Shrimp enchiladas were the bomb.com!

The tacos de verduras (sauteed zucchini and caramelized sweet potatoes) are AMAZING. I'm not a vegetarian, but this is one of my favorite tacos in town--and Austin is a great taco town. The chips & salsa are also delicious. I prefer lunch here, as the front room and patio are pleasant, and the back room (which is also open at... More

Ate here for lunch before the lunch hour rush. Ate indoors b/c it was so hot outside, but would have preferred to eat outdoors because it's a more unique atmosphere. There's really nothing special about the interior. Aside from that the food was tasty, and quick. The chips/salsa were excellent too. Service was solid, no complaints other than that the... More
