Cheap but not particularly cheerful. We were taken here to eat and our hosts paid. They like this place but I found it drab and depressing. The buffet was OK but the food was bland for Indian style cooking and pretty monotone although edible. A type of place I would normally walk by rather than walk in I can't recommend... More

We travel to Arlington from about 60 miles away on a regular basis to do business with stores there, and "discovered" Star India during one trip. We do not have access to Indian cuisine locally, so Star India is a Godsend. We usually eat off the buffet, which we always enjoy, but living to far away, and eating off the... More

Indian food buffet. I love Indian food. But I had much better food with less money than this restaurant. I won't recommend to my friend for this place.

There are much better choices in town. They skip on the more expensive ingredients like the handmade cottage cheese is missing from the spinach paneer that is just creamed spinach, there was no lamb or goat to be seen and the chicken was cooked to death. The popular vermicelli desert was simply made with rice which is much more starchy.... More

I have eaten better Indian food outside of America, but this is as good as any I have eaten in the States. They have a good selection of restaurant standards on the buffet, especially on the weekend, and they do not shy away from meat. The price is very reasonable, and the service is good.

Happened into the Star of India as it filled up for lunch (medium to small dining room), had a craving for a biryiani, which was not on the buffet line. The buffet looked very appealing, just had a craving. The chef offered to make me a biryiani. I had expressed some caution at the range of heat in the usual... More

After eating in many Indian places, I don't like the taste of the food here. I rather prefer driving. There are always buffet, food were not that tasty.

I've been eating here for years and this family run place has never failed to satisfy. Friendly owner and pleasant staff. An extensive menu and lunch and dinner buffets and a BYOB policy makes for a winning combination.
