I always go into a place with an expectation that matches the place I am going to. If I go for a fast food burger I do not judge by a gourmet burger place. With that in mind let's do this diner. I ordered the chicken fried steak. It came with the steak with cream gravy, dinner salad, choice of... More

Classic diner , everything you would expect from a 60s diner. Good breakfast, good coffee. Decent blt. Service a little slow but not to bad . Employees all had good attitudes. We will go back.

Like entering an episode of Twilight Zone. For a diner that fries a lot of its offerings, we once had chicken fingers served that were raw inside. Sit down, and watch as waitresses walk past several times, and never even acknowledge you're there. It's hilarious. You WILL wait 30-40 minutes for your meal. Stick to regular breakfast, or burgers. The... More

Penny's offers typical diner fare with a a bit of a Texas twist. I can recommend the chicken fried steak and the salads are pretty good too.

If you enjoy old style diners, you'll like this one. You can sit right at the counter and watch you food being prepared on the big gas griddle. I enjoyed it.

My wife and I stopped at Penny's Diner one night around 9 pm. Unfortunately, the grill cook was starting to clean the flat grill, so we were told that our order would be started in 15 minutes. We decided to go ahead and order. I ordered the "generous" portioned Chicken Fried Steak, which I thought was average sized, as far... More

When I asked my innkeeper who offers cooked to order breakfast, Penny’s was the closest choice. I’ve seen this place since it was built open and close and open. It’s one of those stainless steel tractor-trailer sized diners, not common in Texas, with mostly counter seating and a tiny few booths. I went on over there and I first noticed... More

The food & the ambiance at Penny's Diner in Yuma, Arizona is much better. They are open 24 hours & in a small town like Alpine this is good.

We tried to eat here late at night but they were closed. The phone number is actually hotel next door. They are not a 24 hour place as they advertise.

Good grief! We sat at the counter of this cute diner. The other end of the counter needed to be cleaned but there was only one waitress working. It wasn't crowded. It was fun to be able to sit there and watch the cook prepare our food. The problem was, he had a dip of snuff in his mouth and... More
