We arrived in Alpine late (9:00 pm) and it was spring break so very little choice. The Saddle Club was open but it looked like a Texas bar so we figured hamburgers. While the menu was limited it was exotic. We first shared an entree called Yuzu Salmon. It came wrapped in a banana leaf and was accompanied by a... More

The menu had changed since our last visit and, I must admit, it was different!! This is a great local bar/joint/restaurant with an interesting take on food! I had the Community IPA and Deb had a glass of the La Posta Tempranillo. Megan H was our server and she did a great job of recommending items from the new menu.... More

My husband and I went here for dinner as it was recommended and were disappointed. One server for the entire place, and one chef in the kitchen. It was fairly busy, and although our drink order was delivered right away, we were told the kitchen was "on hold" for 15 minutes?? Huh?? I have never been told that in a... More

Sharibell2017, first, we want to thank you and your husband for your visit, then we want to apologize that we weren't at our best when you came to see us. We were backed up in the kitchen, and that unfortunately led to some delays, which we're quite sorry about. This isn't like us at all, and seeing as you really... More

We love this place! We come here whenever we are in Alpine. The Epic Fries are to die for, and with so much brisket on top--plenty for two to share! The drinks were also excellent and so was the service out on the patio. Only downside was that at 12:30 in the afternoon, they were already out of three of... More

We arrived late to Alpine after a long drive. Our host recommended Saddle Club for a pleasant informal bite to eat and a drink. We went in and the place was pretty crowded. We sat at a table and saw that there was only one server for the whole place (he looked stressed out). After waiting a while, we got... More

Firstly, I'd like to thank you for giving us a first chance by stopping by when you were in town, Carolyn. You're completely right -- you should have been given a straight answer regarding the kitchen situation that day, so I apologize about that miscommunication on our part. That being said, this definitely doesn't reflect what we look like on... More

The Saddle Club is like a relic from past times. Located in the heart of Alpine, offers a great ambience (fantastic decoration that instantly transports you to west world). It opens at 4.00 p.m. but the kitchen starts serving at 5.00. They have a wine menu and a beer one. Please do yourself a favor and order the (fresh) mozzarella... More

Recently took a 6-day tour of the Big Bend area with RoadsScholar. All meals were delicious, but our eve meal at the Saddle Club was incredible! Best of the tour hands down. Short Ribs were melt in your mouth moist and tender ( and I am not a lover of beef) served with Creamy Polenta and veggies, with petite fours... More

Not your usual eating establishment but if you're in Alpine well worth the visit. They have a patio and several tables inside, along with several sofas and coffee tables, where we sat. The food is billed as "small plates", but they are larger than we expected. We had a bottle of french Chardonnay which was very buttery and smooth, and... More

Very friendly staff, came for lunch this time. Hubby had Epic Fries with cheese, bbq & bacon; I had the weekly burger special which was a chicken burger with many fresh flavors. The fries are beer-battered, a real fave of mine.
