We had a fabulous lunch at Novaks. The lunch buffet had a lot of variety making this a great place to try several Hungarian dishes in one meal. The food was good but the variety took the experience up a notch. As did the great service and fun decor. If you're hungry in Albany, this is a great visit.

We hadn't been in to Novak's Hungarian Restaurant for about a year, and were craving some of their unique fresh-made comfort food. The food didn't disappoint, other than the fact that they've removed the house-made honey mustard dressing from the menu, with the only explanation from the young waitress that "it's no longer offered". We placed our order and noticed... More

Thank you for visiting Novaks. Yes we have removed the Honey mustard dressing from our list as very few were ordering it and we were constanntly throwing it out. We make everything from scratch and as such our dressings don't have a long shelf life. We have had a number of our long time employees retire and are in the... More

We have visited Novak's restaurant on numerous occasions, and we have never been disappointed. Its new location in downtown Albany is wonderful, and we especially enjoy the European dishes like Chicken Paprikas. There is (if you are in a hurry) an excellent buffet option as well. The service is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and you will enjoy an excellent... More

My family took me on a surprise birthday dinner to Novak's. They didn't tell me where we were going as we drove through the countryside from Corvallis to Albany. Novak's is a quaint, charming little restaurant. Love the exposed brick walls. Food was outstanding. Our son had the Chicken Cordon Blue, our daughter had the Chicken Spaetzel, and my husband... Enjoyed a unique Hungarian hash and eggs breakfast. Novak's is a neat place and I will definitely return with my wife for lunch and/or dinner. Coffee and service were also very good.

We eat here every year on our way home from Palm Springs. We plan our trip around arriving in Albany so we can eat dinner at this restaurant with home cooked, authentic hungarian food, YUM. We also stay at motel 6, which is clean and quiet.

I had breakfast at Novak's & enjoyed it very much. The old building that it's located it in in downtown Albany gives Novak's lots of old-fashioned charm & atmosphere & the Hungarian decorations are delightful. It's obvious that the family that owns the restaurant puts a lot of love & attention into the food & service. I had the hash... More

We had lunch at Novak's and it was for the most part ok. We were in Hungary the last summer and the food there seemed more highly spiced than what we had at Novak's. Maybe this is a concession to American tastes but it was disappointing.

William , Were you made aware of the spicy paprika blend on the table? The shaker with the red spice in it is for folks who would like to add spice to their food. Just like in different parst of the United States different regions of Hungary have different flavor profiles. We try to keep the food seasoned but not... More

You can see all the photos and yes the fair is Jimmie and authentic Hungarian. First time at downtown location. Better atmosphere. Now the important stuff.
