Every time we visit the mountains we try and eat at Tamarind Thai. Love the food. I have been there with my husband, and with business associates. All of us loved the food.

I have been there few times now. Food is always good. Especially the PadThai noodles. Mild is not very spicy and they also has a limited Sushi bar there. Service been less Attentive and they are also busier but another person stop by and help. Great place to go if you like Thai food.

We have tried 4 Thai food restaurants in the Asheville area and this is one of the better ones! Easy to get to and nice warm welcoming atmosphere. We had Crab Rangoon and it was hand made and cooked perfectly. Light and tasty. We both had beef Pad Thai with medium heat (you choose your heat). Huge serving and tasted... More

Great food and service. I had green curry with chicken and my husband ordered pineapple fried rice. Both were delicious!

This was in a strip mall close to our hotel (Courtyard Marriott). After a hectic drive up in heavy downpours we just wanted a meal and a drink. Not knowing if they served alcohol we walked in and asked. They serve beer and wine. So we asked to be seated. Our waiter was polite and prompt and very pleasant. Meal... More

This is the classic American restaurant based on Thai cuisine. That said, the food is very good, it's just geared for American tastes, including the extensive sushi offerings. The acoustics in the restaurant are very poor and it is a very noisy place. An OK place but I will not return.

Delicious food in an unpretentious atmosphere. Choose how hot you want your food. Generally runs less hot than other Thai restaurants we frequent.

The Asheville area is blessed with about a dozen Thai restaurants. My wife & I have tried nearly all of them. Most are good; a couple are excellent. Tamarind is not close to where we live so it is one of the last Thai places for us to try. GPS was helpful in finding the restaurant. It is nondescript outside... More

Although this restaurant is in a strip mall, you should stop if you love good Thai food. The atmosphere is actually very nice (my husband and I choose it for dates), and the food is ALWAYS fantastic (I recommend the Masaman curry, although the Pad Thai is great too). We often go at lunch, when the prices are less.

It helped having a maps AP to find the place, but when we arrived, it was nearly empty. This was the first time we visited, and without a serious appetite, we settled for a light Sunday lunch. The extensive menu was one of those that opened into three sections and had some photo's to help you pick out what to... More
