Nice cosy place tucked in the city centre surrounded by lush greenery overlooking the beautiful KL Tower coupled with good service from their very attentive staff and sumptuous food ... this restaurant tops my list for celebratory dinners ! Pricing is acceptable for the quality of ingredients and taste of food offered , dishes are well curated by the Chef! The interior of the restaurant is tastefully done with a unique wall painting of “lady manja” and quirky lightings . Highly recommended if fusion is your thing !

I recently celebrated my girl friend's birthday at Manja Kuala Lumpur on 24 Feb 2020. At the onset, I was sceptical with the dinner menu selection as it seems rather extreme for fusion. However, to my pleasant surprise, the food, simply put, was brilliant! I would highly recommend the following dinner menu at Manja: Truffle Angus Slider (small plate) Creole prawn guacamole (small plate) Taiping duck done two ways (large plate) Lemon Butter scallop & saffron snapper ravioli (medium plate) Drinks: if you're a fan of something lime, mint & refreshingly good - try the Sorbet Lime. I tested the drink by chance while waiting for my dinner group to arrive - the bartender offered rounds of the Sorbet Lime on the house and through that my entire dinner group ordered the drink during our meal. From the honest review of myself including my group of 7 other picky eaters, we were all so happy with the food, excellent hands on service be it from the waiters, the chef, the valet and special shout out to Max for taking pains in capturing shots of us against the majestic KL Tower backdrop. To the extent the service at Manja is impeccable, my husband merely inquired on where he can purchase a packet of cigarette. Instead, the waiter offered to cross the road over to Shell petrol station (it was raining heavily at the time) to get it for him. All in all, very happy with our random encounter of Manja Kuala Lumpur. I will certainly return for the Truffle Angus Slider & Creole prawn guacamole (personal fav!)

My favourite place! The beef sliders are so flavourful. Tried the tamarind fish and it’s our new favourite dish. Service here is always top notch and the food is presented very creatively. We’re coming back here again and and again.

Very disappointing Valentine’s Day dinner. We were not told at time of booking but arrived to find a set menu. Disappointed to find none of the specialty dishes we had lived in prior visits. We ordered an entree and main each and (seeing others patrons being rushed) asked 3 times for a break of 30 mins between courses only to have the main come while we were still eating entree! The main was NZ lamb cutlets and definitely the cheapest most gristly we’ve had in any restaurant. Following quick delivery of both mains no wait staff couple be found to order dessert or drinks. Other patrons near us were also getting very frustrated. We walked downstairs to pay and found all the wait staff chatting in a corner downstairs. To top it off they lost our umbrellas and we waited over 20 minutes outside the restaurant while they casually looked for them. Disappointing food and service and sad to see Manja clearly being greedy for margins on Valentine’s Day. Used to be one of our favourites but we won’t be back.

Dear Kylie, there is no sugarcoating the fact that we were directly responsible for your dreadful Valentine's Day dining experience. We missed the mark on both service and food quality on what is supposed to be one of the most romantic days of the year. This is completely unacceptable and we sincerely apologize. We pride ourselves on our innovative cuisine and our table-side manner so for us to fall short of our usual standards on this particular day is extremely embarrassing to say the least. We would love the chance to show you and your date how sorry we are for the substandard dining experience you had and attempt to make it up to you. Please leave us your contact details so we can get in touch to arrange something at your convenience. Alternatively, you can contact our GM, Mr Reuben at +60166458264. Rest assured that money is not our main motivation in anything we do. The fact that we have given you such an impression is entirely our fault and we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to rectify our mistakes. Once again, we are extremely sorry for this whole incident. We look forward to speaking with you and working towards earning your trust again.

Given the good reviews - we decided to give manja a shot the verdict - the chef is obviously confused as to what exactly is East meet west what we found was that all the dishes were over flavored - which equal no flavor or excess salt.honestly we all left with only the taste of salt in our mouths. In addition compared to other similar restaurant the food was extremely overpriced, the wine was obviously not well stored as it was served warm and they were too many staff actually far more than customer and none of them seem to understand their roles.

I am sincerely sorry that you had a less than enjoyable experience with us. Our food is not actually East meets West cuisine. We do modern colonial cuisine where we draw inspiration from colonial influences. Our main feature is the Malaysian flavours and Malaysian produce. You are quite correct in that our floor staff seemed a little confused, many of them are entirely new and have been with us only for a short period. We shall be stepping up our training of the new staff. Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback will prove invaluable in improving our services in future. Please do give us another chance to show you a better experience.

Went to Maja last night for dinner. Ramadan season makes dining out difficult if you have to wait for 30 minutes to be served when you have not eaten all day. The drinks were excellent and took about 10 minutes to arrive The waiter took our order quickly. The appetizers came within about 10 minutes but we had to wait about 25-30 minutes for our main meal (fish, which takes about 15 minutes to cook) to arrive, something that was distressing for my girlfriend as she was starving and feeling weak. The place was not full but there was a table of 10 that had pre-ordered so I think the kitchen focused on them. The acoustics of the restaurant make the environment very noisy to the point that we had to raise our voices to communicate. The food, was very well presented and typical of what you would expect of a high end restaurant but the taste was disappointing and very bland. For 3 non-alcoholic drinks, a bottle of sparkling water, 1 appetizer and two plates of fish, the bill came to 288RM. I felt it was very pricey for the quality we got. The waiter recommended meat dishes (much more expensive) and indicated it was their specialty and seem to dissuade us from choosing the fish. we would probably return to try something else but not during Ramadan. I personally feel that the price was excessive for the quality of the food we got.

This is one of the first restaurants you see on google rated for five stars when searching for places to eat in KL. First off, if you’re driving you should just forget going here as it’s definitely a difficulty to park. Next, the food is so-so. I had the suggested crab cake bunga starter, which was simply a fried crab cake with some sauces, but somehow the best dish out of the rest that I had. I then had the ribeye, which for me was a no-go. The flavours seemed repetitive and it was just not for me. Then I had the duck, which tasted like boiled chicken. The fried rice that came with the duck did not complement it, not did it complement itself as it did not taste like fried rice at all. I don’t know, maybe my taste buds weren’t meant for this restaurant because I felt like I wasted RM400 just by eating there for 2 people. Y’all, even the “local tea” which is simply teh tarik was not good enough. It seemed like a try hard. I wouldn’t recommend it to Malaysians, this place is most probably designed for tourists to eat at. The food is aesthetically pleasing, but again, that isn’t good enough for the amount of money you spend eating there.

Came in for a last minute booking. Was hard to get a table. Looked at the menu and didn’t see many vegetarian dishes. Spoke to the manager who has excellent knowledge on the menu. They were very accommodating and recommended many off menu items for us. Thank you Manja for truly pampering us.

We spent our anniversary dinner in Manja and it was the best decision ever. The food was simply perfect. Presentation, taste, quantity, complimenting side dishes.. everything was well put together! The staffs were friendly and warm, plus point - the manager Esh just knew everything about the menu which helped us decide what we wanted to have, including our drinks. Ambience is another plus point - makes you relaxed and happy instantly. I can't believe I waited this long to come here.. we came all the way from Penang for the weekend and this dinner was the highlight of it!

I'm quite a foodie and enjoy making trips around hunting for good food. Heard about Manja for quite awhile now from friends, magazines, and newspaper clippings so I'm waking in with some pre-existing expectation for the food to be good. When my friend and I arrived, (2pax for lunch on a weekday) I suppose we were the earliest and was warmly greeted by the staff. I was recommended what to eat. Staff showed a very friendly and patient attitude, detailed, and passionate to serve. I was recommended the "Truffle Garlic Angus" Slider to start and the "Saffron Spiced Goat" for the main. Absolutely loved it. The detail and the balance in the "Saffron Spiced Goat" couple with the "Avacado Raita" was indeed in a league of it's own. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. For dessert, we settled with the "Teh Tarik and Jaggery Doughnut" - the pulled milk tea gellato tastes amazing while the dougnut was a little on the sweet side for me. My friend would also like to state a special mention for their cocktail 🍸, the "Teh O Limau" one in particular. Very smooth and refreshing. Will definitely visit again 👍

I organized a dinner for my senior leadership team at Manja. This is the third time we have booked the 2nd floor of Manja for our dinners. As always, they continue to impress us with their impeccable service and attention to detail (fancy menu cards with names of the guests- small gestures that add value to the overall dining experience). Food was also tasty and well prepared. As taste is subjective, it is impossible please everyone, all the time. That said, we have never been disappointed by the food at Manja and here's to hoping it never happens either! Our guests and bosses thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and the service rendered by the Manja crew.

We were looking for somewhere special for our last night on Kuala Lumpur and didn't fancy one of the high end hotel restaurants or a cheap and cheerful one either. Manja fitted the bill perfectly up a quiet road amongst several other similar restaurants with a lovely feel to it. We sat outside with the KL towers as a backdrop and it was very a very enjoyable and relaxing meal. The waiters were very friendly explaining what each dish was as it arrived and gave us good advice on our choices which were fishcake and a spicy crab dish which was amazing to start followed by two different fish dishes for main which were equally amazing. Along with two beers and a bottle of white wine the total bill was around ÂŁ90 so not cheap (although the wine alone was ÂŁ30) but worth every penny as the food was very different to anything we have tried before and so tasty.

Being our first time, we asked for recommendations and the Lamb Done Two Ways did not disappoint. We were spoilt for choice when it came to the small plates (appetisers) and they were very unique and delicious. Would definitely come back to dine again!

We were greeted with a smile at the door, service the entire night was impeccable to say the least! The place exudes a warm, cozy ambience. 2 floors for a nice dining experience but the top floor had been booked for a dinner celebration so we were seated downstairs. The sofa seat was not too comfortable as it sank way lower than the table. We order the Bayam Escargot on Truffle toast for starters and it tasted so good. Mains can take awhile to arrive so best to order together with a starter to minimize wait time. I completely enjoyed every bite of my Curry Leaf Burnt Butter Fish and partner's Sarawak Black Pepper Ribeye was juicy to the last bite. The cherry on my cake was the Bunga Raya Gin, absolutely divine👍🏼a must-try for gin lovers! Would surely recommend Manja for a quiet night out🥂

My husband and I were immediately drawn to the lamb dish - “Lamb done two ways”. My oh my! The hero of the dish (for me) was the rack of lamb smothered with smoked paprika dry rub! It elevated the dish as it married well with the rest of the ingredients on the plate: spiced pumpkin and the pine nut salsa. Certainly took me back to Melbourne summer! We ended the night with “Kopi Peng & Kahlua” and needless to say - we will be returning for more of this combo! Extra points for the lovely staffs who were attentive, friendly and professional at all times. Kudos to the team!
