My wife and i ate here almost everyday during our 5 days in KL. It was our go to place for breakfast and we frequently visited for dinner. The waitstaff can come across as disinterested but that's INCORRECT. Most of them do not have a very extensive command of English and therefore stick to the basics. They were efficient and helpful despite their limited English.
The regular menu is tasty and filling. It is also inexpensive. The 'restaurant' is also clean and functional. They are not big on adornments, instead they have a set array of dishes and that's what you have to go with. We found that it was visited by locals and tourists alike and was always busy.
We are happy to recommend this place.

Our Airbnb is just around the corner from this restaurant, and our host recommended this place. So we gave it a try the 1st morning for breakfast. The “breakfast” menu is just ok. Not really recommended to be honest, but everything else in the menu is very highly recommended. Over the next 3 days, we continue to return here for breakfast and tried different things (minus the breakfast menu). Chicken murtabak, cheese and garlic roti, onion egg and chili roti, garlic naan, mee goreng, nasi goreng, and our favorite: Ikan masin nasi goreng! Mango lassi is also a nice accompaniment to the main dishes.
We had 2 lunches elsewhere and a dinner at a place in Jalan alor, but otherwise, we kept coming back to TG’s for the great foods, variety and prices. They have it all! Highly recommended.

This is a great place to eat! Its fast and inexpensive and so delicious. I love the sweet gigantic dosa!
This place isnt fancy.... its only delicious!!! There is a very home-like feel too. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow but you can easily get the staff's attention so it is not a big deal.
Another great thing is that it is virtually open all the time.

We ate in this canteen located a few blocks from our hotel based on the reviews and we were not disappointed.
A charming lady, very attentive, quickly seated us at one of the tables and we therefore opted for a fresh banana juice each, beef nasi goreng, and seafood mee goreng.
Everything was delicious, very well cooked and the wait was OK. The dishes were tasty and plentiful and authentic. The waitress took care to ask us if we wanted the dishes spicy or not (in addition to the basic seasoning). Don't be fooled by the somewhat "cheap" and canteen-like appearance of the place with its metal tables, you will really delight your taste buds.
As for the price, it cost us less than €7 for two dishes and two drinks. You just need to go away from the main street where the other tourist traps flourish.
A real pleasure to eat in this place.

Fantastic very authentic northern Indian food cooked and served by very nice staff for very budget friendly prices. Coming almost every day & loving it more with every new day. Our favorite choice: Paneer butter masala. Highly recommended!

Not the greatest of experiences. Despite asking the server several times to re-confirm the order, he still managed to get it wrong. Orders arrived one a time with 7-10 minutes between each of the 4 main dishes we ordered. I’d say that if you go here, you need to be prepared to eat individually, as we did. We ordered extra rice and if we hadn’t asked the server to bring the rice, it seemed clear he was going to bring this last and after the first 2 in our party would have finished their food. Why? The food (various chicken curries, minus one that didn’t arrive) was fine, but really nothing to get excited about.

Authentic indian Food. All staffs are very friendly. Foods are very fresh. Though it is an Indian resturant after that also you will get delicious beef curry here. Biriyani was awesome. They also provide a lot of free side dishes like chutney, papadam etc. Place was very nice and clean. Just love it.

Honestly the best curry I have ever eaten, UK or abroad. I had the lamb masala and my girlfriend had the nasi biryani (chicken). The meat was tender and full of flavour. The curry itself was packed with wonderful flavours. The cheese garlic naan was also superb. Gutted we only found this on our last day in KL or we would be back many times.

I absolutely love TG. The food is amazing and very affordable. The staff and management are super friendly, accomidating and fast. I have eaten there hundreds of times and everything Ive tried on the menu has exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this place to anyone in KL.

We enjoyed a delicious (but cheap!!!) indian and malesian dinner.
The bistrot is open 24/7 so it's possible to eat at anytime.
Love this place, love this food. Staff and service is great as well.

This place is my go to Indian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, they have introduced new dishes in the menu, Nasi Goreng USA (Fried Rice with Vegetables) is a HIT and the Lamb Curry is delicious, lamb was so tender and the sauce was tasty.
They have recently renovated the place and now its more bright and spacious.
Highly recommended!
Tip: Iced Lemon Tea is a must-have with all food items.

We came here just for sweet roti (a crispy cone drizzled in a sticky condensed milk sauce) which was unbelievably yummy. I didn’t have a main meal but the food looked and smelt delicious. It has a great reputation in KL and it looked to be well deserved based on my experience.

Murtabak lamb with cheese was very juicy and cheese in it very goey. Highly recommended. Nasi goreng kampung spicy as I liked it without stinging on the anchovies. Staff friendly and excellent service. Price reasonable. Looking forward to trying out the other items on the menu

We we're finding this place as we were searching for the perfect place to have a traditional meal. Everything around was expensive (compared to Malaysian standards) and then we found this fantastic Indian based restaurant. Staff is helpful, friendly and speaks english. The food is very cheap and yet tastes perfectly good!

Went in August 2024, was recommend on several websites as one of the best mamak restaurants in KL. However experience incredibly poor, this is a tourist trap now and very chaotic. People were queuing but queue was badly ordered, restaurant itself was dirty both tables and floor were disgusting. The food itself was average; I have had many better mamak experiences in different locations without the hassle of the busy restaurant and the tourists taking selfies with their signature Roti. All very disappointing, feel sorry the staff with such rude customers that don’t understand the culture; but even so food was so so.
