We couldn’t have asked for better. Every holiday is always capped by a Michelin starred meal. We’ve been to many restaurants but this one has been by far the most enjoyable and delicious. We took the Elegant set and upgraded with sirloin and crepes. Not...to be regretted as everything was sublime. To have the crepes prepared in front of us made the wait for dessert oh-so-worth-it. The fact that our server took care of all our needs and being super attentive also ensured that the experience was complete.More

Given the Japanese’s infatuation with the French, it’s no wonder that this Michelin starred restaurant in the Ritz Carlton succeeds in every way. The perfect pacing of the dishes and the attentive yet unobtrusive service was similar to the finest restaurants in France. The restaurant...provides several levels of tasting menus with luxurious wine pairings of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Our favorite dishes were the butter poached lobster tail and the explosion of flavor in the Wagyu. Our evening (3 hour meal) concluded with a dramatic Crepes Suzette flambéed tableside. Overall, a highly stylized Japanese interpretation of a perfect French meal that exceeded all expectations.More

Wow what an experience of an exceptionally high quality with both service and food. The lady at the front door was beautiful in her delivery and service. Our waitress was fantastic. The outstanding Toshimichi Okamura not only made our dining so amazing, also incredibly perspective...seeing a previous restaurant and noting it was our anniversary. Next a special box with wishes and roses was brought to us. The level of detail he provided was phenomenal. Even printing out a map and taking us down to the subway entrance giving directions. Above and beyond! La Baie is higher than 1 Michelin in our opinion. Thank you Toshimichi and your brilliant team and of course the fantastic chefs!! We have already recommended to family and will continue.More

During a 12-day trip to Japan, we had the set-menu lunch at La Baie and it was amazing. La Baie made it easy to make a reservation via email--making restaurant reservations in Japan is not easy. The restaurant is beautiful and the multi-course lunch was...perfection. The service was first-class and we never felt rushed. I also recommend the wine pairing. One of the best meals during our 12 day trip.More

I reserved this restaurant as part of a visit to the Ritz-Carlton Osaka. It was a surprise to my fiancé to celebrate Valentine‘s Day. The service was outstanding beginning with the reservation to understand any restrictions on food and making sure they are communicated upon...arrival. From the beginning the staff ensured us the highest level of well-being by recommending changes to the menu due to the food restrictions mentioned when reserving. After being seated and having our drink order taken we were constantly serviced by one dedicated waiter and other attentive staff. We did never had to wait for a refill of wine or water for a single second. The food itself was like a well composed orchestra that made sure evey single taste bud of us was going to sleep happily that night! Especially the Duck Foie Gras and the Wagyu Beef Tenderloin are still watering my mouth thinking about them a day later! Overall, I can only recommend to bring your significant other or a date you want to really impress here. This restaurant well deserves their Michelin star and does not lack on any front!More

When we decided to have dinner in the hotel the last two nights of our Osaka stay, I called the reservation line and chose La Baie and Hanagatami, unaware that both had been awarded a Michelin star. More stars should be on the way, as...both are worthy. As we walked over the threshold of La Baie, it was as if we were in Paris with the dark wood paneling, muted tones - everything in sight was perfection. We chose the chef’s menu and every plate looked and tasted heavenly. Our server brought out a small mountain of butter for us to carve from (delicious). It’s crafted by French cheesemonger Jean Yves Bordier. The Chef himself is French and we met him as we were about to leave with our tiny boxes housing a tiny chocolate Eiffel Tower. I can’t say enough about the service and this incredible meal. We’ve eaten at several Michelin restaurants around the world and La Baie is certainly a contender for the top of our list.More

Cutting-edge cuisine (executed beautifully), professional servers and calming atmosphere. We went with the set menu, and enjoyed some new flavors and a number of interesting presentations. The warm white asparagus with seaweed jelly, marinated sayori fish & Bernaise sauce course as well as the roasted...venison with coffee butter, black fruit paste, cauliflower, shitake mushroom & poivrade sauce were our two favorites. There were a number of exceptional choices on the cheese trolley and the Praline Chocolate Sphere with lemon confit, salt crumble & hot hazelnut sauce was devine. We had dinner here before a flight out of Osaka, not sure what to expect. It was incredible, truly. Each dish better than the last. We ate at some of the top restaurants in Tokyo in the days leading up, but this was the best...dinner we had in Japan, and one of the best we've had around the world (we live in NY and eat out all the time). This was our first visit to Osaka, and when we found out that La Baie within the Ritz-Carlton Osaka was Michelin rated, I made reservations for the family. I have raved about Michelin rated restaurants to my teenage daughter, and I was happy to obliged...her with her first experience. We were seated at a large corner table that did have the feel of a French restaurant although we were in Japan. The staff was very attentive, although their broken English was a little difficult to understand at times, which is understandable as describing these French dishes in perfect English would be challenging enough. The were three different price level of dining options, and we opted for the middle one. The staff did allow my wife and me to make minor substitutions. The baguette and butter were undoubtedly French, and I do not dare to start explaining the different dishes that we had. Suffice to say that every plate was a work of art. The large white asparagus with seaweed jelly was very unique. The roasted sole with crayfish and the wagyu beef tenderloin were exceptional. Although each plate was small in portion, we were more than full at the end of the meal. As a parting gift, we were presented with a small Eiffel tower piece of chocolate in a blue Tiffany-like box. The only reason why the visit did not receive a perfect rating from me was that the temperature of the restaurant was too warm, considering that a number of men wore dinner jackets.More
