My husband really wanted to try this place out after seeing reviews on trip advisor. Glad we did. The ramen was so delicious! My younger daughters had rice & pork, they also enjoyed their meals. The atmosphere is nice & we really enjoyed the music.

We visited late one evening (just before closing) after Gogyo was recommended to us by friends who manage ramen bars in London. We were greeted by the chef who talked us through everything we needed. He was friendly, polite and spoke fantastic English. We ordered...More

Obviously the price is among the average but you can really appreciate the quality of the dishes. I enjoyed a lot this dinner in my last night in Kioto. I was the only european in the restaurant.

Had the burnt miso ramen and it was pretty good. Went there without reservation at around 18h30 on a Friday and was able to get a table straight away. Pretty quiet environment but with crappy music - sorry, Despacito is not acceptable, please put some...More

I went to Gogyo to eat ramen for the first time and I loved it. The bowls are pretty big (I could eat only 1/3 of it!), so you don't need to order more food than a bowl of ramen, which is a good point...More

Burnt Ramen. It's different, a bit too salty for my taste buds and rather pricey. Ambiance and atmosphere is really really nice but they really charge you (think there's a seating charge per pax as well)

We came to try their burnt ramen but their other dishes were nicer. My fault I guess as I'm not sure what I expected when I ordered burnt food effectively, the burnt ramen was just too charred for me. There was a decent wait and...More

A really beautiful restaurant with a cool but friendly atmosphere. The staff were very helpful (and patient with our broken Japanese). The food was amazing. We had the burnt miso ramen, which was the best I had in Japan, accompanied with gyoza (also delicious). We...More

The kogashi ("burned") ramen at Gogyo is fabulous. We had a burned miso and burned shoyu ramen and they were both fantastic although my favourite was the miso. The bowls are full of dark black broth covering wonderful noodles, egg and vegetables. The décor is...More

They will take a reservation with conditions: They require you to order at least one beverage and one Otoshi (starter; 400 JPY), one another food order other than just Ramen per person. A Ramen order only is not accepted.
