Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You should go to this restaurant if you are looking for a dinner or lunch to prepare the typical barbecue or Yakiniku. At your table they bring you the different types of meat that you have ordered and you cook them yourself on the barbecue in the center of the table.
All the tables have curtains that make you feel in a booth.
In our case all the meats were of very good quality and the price was very reasonable.
To repeat, and in the center of Kyoto, very close to Pontocho.
Perhaps the least Japanese thing was the friendliness of the service, which was very fair, but pleasant.

The beef here was delicious, especially the intestines. Quite pricey but well worth it. This is a very busy restaurant. Reservations are essential.

Selected after reading TA reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We opted for a steak selection (cook yourself) as well as some sort of pancake and salad. We also took the standard drink as much as you want in 90 minutes for a set price. Great evening

This unpretentious place is a great place to try Yakiniku. Leave your shoes at the door and go to your private booth, where you can eat screened by the pull down blind. Apart from the nice starter, accompaniments and sweet, the selection of meats was brilliant; you grill them yourself at the burner on the table. A really fun experience. The service is friendly and staff will kindly advise you on the food and how best to grill. There is a choice of world wines if you've had enough Saki and Japanese beer. And the 100 Year Plum wine (on the rocks) is a great way to round off the meal with your desert. Highly recommended.

It's not near to the busy part of kyoto shopping belt. Most would have given this place a missed. The wagyu beef is creamy. Reasonably priced. Those who are not used to the creamy cuts can opt the usual cuts at half the price. If you don't know how to cook beef, I suggest you take the creamy cuts as it's unlikely you will overcook them as there is too much fats.

They fit me in on short notice and had an amazing range of meats to select from. Highly recommend the top sirloin cuts.

The best Japanese BBQ I’ve ever had, we had to go back a second time while we were in Kyoto. I was looking for BBQ and as luck had it, this was right across from our hotel.
We had the premium shoulder lovers choice and veggies the first time. Added the rare portion combination platter the second time, as the bill came well under expectations on our first meal.
The meat is so well seasoned, there’s no need for any sauce. Although there were two sauces provided which just added an extra bit of flavour to the meat.
Highly highly recommended!!

Excellent meat, perfect service.
Very nice experience: You grill your meat sand vegetables by yourself at the table.
Not extremely cheap but definitely worth the price.

We searched for a wagyu place in Kyoto and here was this gem. We were immediately accomodated although it was about 19:30. Tables are nested behind curtains that can be closed according to your liking (there are also floor lever tables). A background jazz music playing. We took the Nishiki menu set (5200¥each) and 2 unlimited drinks for 90 min (1800¥each). Food came stacked, so when we didn't see the meat coming anymore we ordered some more wagyu, which then was followed by the wagyu we had ordered before. Useless to say we were dined and wined to the limit. The unlimited drinks menu is either 90 or 120 min and it allows you to taste different types of Japanese drinks. Our overall experience was excellent and I suggest to any meat enthusiast to try this place.

We went here on our first night in Kyoto. The booths were great with floor level seating and a privacy curtain.
We ordered the 5 types of rare beef to share. The beef was superb, melt in your mouth and so tasty.
Wait staff were helpful and attentive. Would definitely go again.

We booked the day before and went there an evening, the meat is just delicious !! - we had the five varieties platter (3 pieces of each meat) about 5500 yen and then we picked 3 individual meats (5 pieces of each meat) btw 900 and 2000 yen per meat type- it was really more than enough for the 2 of us! They also have good wine starting at 3500 yen. And for desert, couple of choices, fondant au chocolat is nice to finish a delicious meal! (Would be better warmed up though..) - no English spoken at all but the staff is very kind and helpful! Thank you!!

City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
