Family visit with 3 kids, where our oldest wanted a beef dinner. Having beef Japanese style was entertaining for all. The beef was very tender and taste was great. The only downside was perhaps the portions, which were kind of small. We compensated by some extra orders, with corresponding impact to the bill.

Great and beautiful restaurant. The food was spectacular and fresh - the meat cuts were really good and the fried rice outstanding. The service was awesome too. Really great place - highly recommend.

Amazing Yakiniku (table grill), with Hida beef in Sanjo Street (Kyoto). Very nice service in a nicely designed restaurant

Great food and decent prices for quality wagyu beef. Only downside is smoking amongst diners that spoilt the environment and taste of the food. The raw beef with egg yolk super yummy!

We ordered the 6000/pp set and very happy with it. The meat are very juicy and the marinate is good. No need to dunk it in the sauce. The service is very prompt.

This place was open after we got to our apartment we were staying in and it was really good. We had better beef elsewhere but also went to places that were much fancier. However it was a good dinner and fun to cook the meat exactly how you wanted it. Service was very good and they spoke English very well.... More

The concierge at the hotel made the reservation for the two of us and they placed us in a nice private room in the back. They have an English menu and we decided to order several cuts a la carte. The fun part is that you cook the meat yourself. Given how marbled the meat is it's not a sin... More

First thing, the place is quite smoky due to all the BBQ from around the place. Is a good BBQ place in Kyoto but definitely not the best BBQ we had in Japan. But do come as the meat and the price is quite reasonable, it is definitely worth the value for money.

This restaurant is one of our destination must visit during our trip to Japan. We tried to book this restaurant but so difficult. We couldnt find their official website. The Yakiniku hiro website are in Japanesse and so not tourist friendly. Then we asked our hotel staff to book for us on the moment we check in and turns out... More

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
