Situate at the lower lobby of the Tokyu Kyoto Hotel the restaurant serves a number of set kaiseki menus. Service is fast and efficent and the food is very good. The only complaint perhaps is the course came a bit too fast. Between ¥6000.00 to slightly above ¥10000.00. Will recommend.

We stayed in Kyoto Tokyu hotel and then this restaurant, upstairs at the bakery / cafe, is just 3 minutes away across the street. We went on a Sunday night and lots of tables were available, so no need to make a reservation. You have several menu options at different price levels. We took the 4 course menu for 4,400... More

I ate in the cafe had a salmon entree and pasta for a main, price was good and food was good. The cafe is not open for breakfast , upstairs has... More

This is a French restaurant plus separate bakery and cafe located across the street and a little north of Nishi Honganji temple on Horikawa Dori. Upstairs is an excellent French restaurant. Downstairs is a bakery and cafe that offers desserts, coffee, and some lunch items. The bakery downstairs has amazingly good Mont Blanc dessert that was the best I tried... More

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
