The food was excellent and provided an insight into Japanese Cuisine. Each dish was served individually by attentive staff although their knowledge of English was limited. A great experience

We did not place to go here got lunch, but we're at the Nanzenji Shrine earlier as expected and we're finished around 2pm - so perfect for lunch. Found this place via the app and could not have been happier with the choice. Perfect service,...More

Our hotel reserved us dinner for 8pm, the restaurant showed 7:30pm on their system. Their closing time is officially 9:30pm, so they accepted us and gave us only one choice of menu. The waitress was kind of ok, food was brought in all at once,...More

We had the tofu set (I had sashimi too) and we both found the tofu to be very bland. There was 3 types of tofu, all were the same texture of boiled tofu so very similar. The sauce for the "simmered tofu" barely had flavour....More

Want to try tofu a variety of ways? This is the place. Got the tofu set which even for a non-vegetarian was flavorful and great. The warm tofu (known for in this region) was wonderful. It was expensive, but worth it.

Located near the temple complexes of Nanjenji. Stumbled on this place after visiting the area and was really hungry. Never go to the first restaurant you see on an empty stomach. Beautiful tardens and inter-connecting dining areas which we saw after the meal. Kaiseki was...More

The restaurant is located close to Nanzenji. The landscape and restaurant is nicely decorated. I could feel the peaceful in the place and settled my mind before enjoying the lunch. The restaurant serves tofu dishes. The portions are not big but they are sumptuous. Price...More

City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its
blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered
shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street
bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to
peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home
goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center
is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and

When I went, I was in a group, but I think the price is for the meal and the grounds were free to walk round. Hope this helps, Robin.
