Superb shojin ryori experience, dining with views to an exquisite garden, served by monks. Later on, having a relaxing drink in a bar overlooking a serene garden. A sublime dining experience.

Amidst the hundreds of temples in beautiful Kyoto, Kangara-an has mixed good business with sustainability. Lovely setting in the evening, suitable for those who wish a sake, plumb wine or other beverage in a relaxed and respectful environment.
We had a terrific meal in Kanga-an. The food was delicious and it was beautifully presented. It was a very special setting and we rounded the evening off with a drink in the secret bar. Excellent!

A different sort of vegetarian experience. Food was well presented but service was slow. Staff were good in explaining the various types of food serve. Try to get a room facing the inner garden.
