Food was good. Service not so great.I ordered the set including 3 small portions of curry + nan bread, rice ,salad, samosa ,condiments and raita.Chai or coffee were included too.Meal was around 3000 JY so not so cheap.I asked to have a regular tea instead of...the two offered beverages but was refused. Not very welcoming :( The restaurant should consider that some costumers do not drink coffee at night time nor do theyconsume milk as rule( Chai has milk in it) This leaves no option if the restaurant refuses to serve tea instead.More
We really enjoyed our dinner last night. Flavors were delicious. We had hot tandoori chicken, chicken dum biryani and lamb kheema. Service was also wonderful. The one we explained all the dishes to us. Nice ambiance inside. We love Indian food and this was a...nice switch from eating Japanese cuisine for an entire week. Would definitely recommend.More
Their food has true Indian taste, aroma and texture - Prepared from scratch and not just some protein thrown into a generic gravy. All dishes we tried were exactly as we thought they should be. Fried Okra and Daal makhani were as good as we...have EVER tasted - must try. Service is wonderful, owner himself gets involved in the service which is always a great sign. Ambience can be improved upon but still does the job. Highly recommended - must try. Wish we had this restaurant here in Sydney.More
We went tonight to a Mughal Indian restaurant they were very welcoming and the food was finger-leaking tasty. (I grew up in Delhi so I know when food is good) our server was Nayan Singh who was absolutely nice and helpful to us. Thank you...Mughal Indian Restaurant.More
Reviews they have got are really questionable. prices are high compared to the size of portions . Lassi was very very thin and almost flavorless . Curry was not good too but nans were mad frsh and were delicious. Overall not worth visiting again sorryMore
Thank you for the review. Was lassi very very thin? Our restaurant's lassi is thicker than the other restaurant. It is the first time we heard our lassi was thin in 33years of our Career. We are showing all price of menu on website or...More
This is a fantastic place for Indian food if you are in Kyoto Japan area. They have a good selection for the set menu. I have also tried the biriyani, Rasam, Butter Chicken and honestly I was underwhelmed by it. Good place to dine
A very good restaurant, friendly staff. Especially recommended for vegetarians. Best place in Kyoto for me!
Amazing food and very friendly staff. Everything was very fresh and would strongly recommend the place.
This is an exceptional Indian restaurant in Kyoto. We loved the Kachumbar salad and the Chicken Pakora starter and the main courses were incredible. Prawn Marsala and Chicken Tikka with extra spice. Both were outstanding. Don’t miss the Kulfi and homemade coconut ice cream.
This is a good place for grabbing lunch if you are in the downtown area. They have a good selection for the set menu. I have also tried the biriyani and honestly I was a little underwhelmed by it. It wasn't bad per say, but...tasted more like fried rice than biriyani.More
It is the closest Indian restaurant to the Kyoto Okura hotel. They open for lunch at noon and will shoo you away if you reach a few minutes early. The set meal with 2 curries is more than adequate for the average Indian stomach. The...lassi is good; samosa strictly average. Service is adequate.More
We can’t echo the words of previous reviews enough - lovey Indian food great service and reasonable prices, for Japan. The owner is Japanese but travels widely and walks the ‘shop floor’ checking on your wellbeing. The serve Indian wine which is actually ok. I...had the Sauvignon blanc which was a nice change from the Chardonnay largely served in Japan and you got a European measure! We ordered the mixed grill which was delicious and plenty for two of us and then a main course and side dish plus sundries to share. If you fancy a change from Japanese or something spicy I recommend this!More
Great Indian restaurant; North Indian dishes, also many great spicy choices on the menu. We have visited many Indian restaurants and were very satisfied. Friendly service - recommended.
Visited this restaurant with my husband and children (my son is 15 and my daughter is 11) since we were craving Indian food after a couple of days in Kyoto. Since we are of Indian origin ourselves, though we live in the US, we weren't...sure what to expect from an Indian restaurant in Kyoto, especially since our children our picky eaters. But the food was simply outstanding, as was the service. My husband ordered a non-veg thali and my son got the veg thali. My daughter and I ordered the saag paneer, dal makhni and garlic naans. I also tried the bhindi masala and the chana masala off my husband's thali and the butter paneer from my son's. Everything was absolutely fresh, piping hot and mouthwateringly delicious. Usually at least some of the gravies at restaurants overlap and you feel like you're eating the same gravy over and over again with vegetables substituted in. Not here! Each dish was unique and flavorful and superbly prepared. The naans were melt in your mouth - crispy on the outside and soft once you tore them. Would've loved to dine there again but unfortunately didn't get a chance. The service was warm and friendly and they even sent a staff member downstairs after we were done eating to hail a taxi and he stayed to see us off politely. Rare to see such outstanding and friendly service anywhere. Only wish they had a branch in San Francisco!! Highly recommend!!More
