Come hungry and in the mood for a delicious pork cutlet perfectly prepared and coated in panko. 1. Locate the restaurant and follow the wooded then stone walkway to the entrance. 2. Choose your quality and firmness of cutlet. 3. Follow the instructions to make your dipping sauce. 4. Enjoy unlimited miso, cabbage and barley rice along with your cutlet.

Food and atmosphere was great. Only problem is so many people like myself have gone there because of the great reviews on trip advisor it almost feels like you are in America or Australia given the predominant accents in the place.

This place serves great quality tonkatsu pork. Their set menu comes with unlimited barley rice, miso soup and cabbage. The side sauces were very tasty. You can also choose from different breeds and cuts of pork. We chose the lowest quality cut and breed (as we were on a budget) and it was still very good. Best we had in... More

I'd been craving a good katsudon since arriving back in Japan, so when I saw it on the menu here I had to go. The restaurant is well designed and would be a nice place for a relaxing dinner if you were able to ignore the long queue of customers waiting to get in. The staff do a very good... More

A local shopowner recommended this restaurant to me for lunch, so I visited. It's in a kind of unusual shopping center and you walk down a short corridor. All kinds of different pork cutlet platters, including different qualities and cuts. After ordering, the waitress brings over sesame seeds for you to mash and then add sauce from the table to... 4 very happy bunnies. After a very disappointing supper last night at Ishiyaki Isshan Pontocho, for £2 more we had a delicious meal here tonight. Arrived about 8:10pm, and had to queue to 30 minutes, but sooo worth it. The queue moved reasonably fast, and a departing customer recommend the "shrimp", so, in addition to the 160gm Berkshire pork Katsura,... More

If you don't love pork, I would say to not come here. Hubby got Berkshire pork and while he's picky, he raved about it. I got the shrimp and it was ok, didn't love it.

Like many reviewers mentioned, this small restaurant can be easily missed if you are not paying attention. There's no fancy signs, pictures or replica of the dishes in front, just a little entry way to a narrow path leading to the restaurant. But don't let this modest appearance fool you, this place offers one of the best katsu I've ever... More

Very good meal. The fancy pork was sold out but mine was still excellent. We were rather tired to happily finished in 30-45 minutes. We waited in line for ~20 minutes. It's a little hard to find with maps because it's such a small little hallway to reach it. Enjoy the break. 2 people w 1 beer <$50.
