We came here after reading all the great reviews on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed! The ramen was pretty tasty but the fried chicken (karaage) was amazing!!! It was soo crispy and delicious and virtually flawless - aside from a little excess oil. It was extremely good value for money as 880 yen gets you a large bowl of ramen,... More

We were staying near keage station which is only a fifteen minute walk away from this establishment. We had the special combo which actually was more than enough for two to share. The thoughtfulness of the pickles and side veg/salad was a great rice accompaniment and couples with the friendly and helpful owner and staff made for a great evening.... More

Fried chicken was delicious and was very satisfied with what they had to offer. The owner was also very nice. Would definitely eat again.

This place is about a 20-30min bus ride from Kyoto train station and it's well with the trip! Fried chicken, ramen, rice and condiments all for 880¥!!

Great, cheap, hole-in-the-wall place in Kyoto. As others have said, the fried chicken is amazing - some of the best we've ever had! Definitely a good choice if you're in the area.

Went here with my sister and we shared the combo (ramen, fried chicken, and rice) for 880 (~$7 usd). There were sides on the table (cabbage, edamame, veggies, etc) that you help yourself to. I'm not a huge fan of ramen so I can't really tell the difference with all of them (and I've been to a few famous ones... More

Exploring little hole in the wall eateries has been one of my favourite parts of travelling Japan and this place was no exception. We ordered the combination which from memory was around 8000yen. It wasn't just about the cheapest Mrs we had over here it was the only one I literally couldn't finish (and I'm a fatty). Rich salty broth... More

Place was full of locals when we arrived and then a group of 11 showed up after a meal. Despite being super busy the two staff were really friendly and happy to help out my wheelchair bound mum getting in. Great vibe, cheapest meal I have found (800 yen set meal was enough for a food coma), and was full... More

The perfect ramen, huge chunks of fried chicken and rice. The restaurant is a typical Japanese experience. Small, homely and good honest food. There was so much food I struggled to finish it! Would recommend and will be going again!

Thank Daniel C

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
