This is one of my most favorite Kyoto sweets that I don't know exactly where else can offer such a great sweet stuff. It looks like clear thick noodle called Kuzu, local root plants, floating in the water with several big chunk of ice. Scoop...More

Read some reviews where people didn't like the taste of the kuzukiri. It may be a cultural thing that perhaps Westerners may not find so approachable, but this is one of the best I've had so far in Japan. There's usually a wait but turnover...More

Traditional Sweets, red bean desserts, arrowhead noodle. Must try in Kyoto. The sweetness is just the way I like, subtle and not overly sweet. The ambience is very relaxed, the staff are polite. What more can you ask for?

Nice place with many locals. They seem to enjoy the arrowhead noodles which taste strange to me with the brown syrup. Other sweets like the red bean with millet cake was yummy. But the arrowhead noodles are not for me.

Kagizen Yoshifusa is a wonderful dessert place in between Gion Shijo Station and Yasaka Shrine. The selection is small, but focused. Tourists should not fret as they have English menus available. The most recommended dish is the Gion-originated kuzukiri (葛粉), arrowroot noodles in cold, ice...More

We love the kuzukiri with brown sugar syrup. It is absolutely delicious. You must try it when you are in Kyoto. We went there on a Saturday afternoon. There was a small queue but it moved quickly. They had a menu in English and the...More
