We had Hulu Ji or Gourd Chicken in this restaurant and it was absulutely amazing. Hulu Ji is a traditional dish of Xi'an City and people began making this dish during the Tang Dynasty. This chicken was boiled, steamed and fried. It was very well...made and the chicken was golden perfection. Another dish we ordered wasNaitang Guozi Yu or Pot Fish with Broth. The fish was tender and the soup was very delicious and fresh tasting. The milky looking soup is due to the long cooking time. High recommended restarant.More

My husband, two teenage sons and I came here on our first night in Xian as it had been quite well reviewed on TripAdvisor and recommended on our sites as well as near our hotel. We were on the Ground Floor, where it's self-service (we...didn't know there was another section upstairs). Dishes were cold, dumplings were bad. A terrible dinner altogether.More

Great place to try different types of dumplings. The pot of soup given at the start of the meal is the best part. You must try the dumplings on their own without any sauce or dipping to get the real taste. They will all taste...the same if you dip the dumplings into vinegar or chilli.More

If you love Chinese dumplings, there is no better place than thius restaurant. I suggest that you come feeling famished because the savory, enormous portions are impossible to finish. The "appetizer" was 12 simple dumplings on a platter (Ithought this was the entree). If that...weren't eniough, they brought out 4 trays of "custom" filledstuffedumplings shaped like different animals. Add in the delicious hot tea and brown rice and you are blissfully stuffed to the gills.More

The various kinds of dumplings were tasty and interesting to try. The pot of soup was also very good. The bonus was getting a good view of the bell tower.

Dumpling buffet was ok, some truly flavorful, some just ok. They clearly know how to cater to foreigners. Restaurant is hard to find. Next to Starbucks by the bell tower on the second floor.

The Jiaozi Dinner was part of our private tour schedule, and we were not really surprised to find the restaurant packed with larger tourist groups and families. Our local guide had ordered the (what I think must have been) standard Jiaozi assortment - 8 baskets...with 4 dumplings each served one by one for the two of us together with vegetable and sauces. The dumplings had different stuffings - chicken, pork, shrimps, vegetable and much to my surprise walnut, my absolute favourite. They were all tasty and some even delicious. What I disliked was the restaurant atmosphere - a bit of mass feeding character and the dumpling baskets were served at such high speed that regrettably we could not help having a "hurry up" feeling...More
