The Li Cafe is on the lobby level of the Shangri-La Hotel in Guilin. It sported an extensive buffer of Asian fusion and Western dishes. Very tasty offerings. Full bar. The wait staff's English skills left something to be desired.

The complimentary breakfast buffet was served in the Li Cafe. It was plentiful and offered a variety of tasty Eastern and Western items.

The first day we arrived in the evening, so we ordered from the menu. There was a soup dish with lots of vegetables that I tried and loved it. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and enjoyed every morning at the breakfast buffet. There were numerous choices (western and Chinese and other Asian foods), including cereals, omelets, pancakes,... More

This is the big breakfast buffet for the Shangrila. We are all captive audience since there is not much around the hotel. There is a big selection of chinese and western food. It is very crowded when the tour groups come in. Food is OK and the espresso machine coffee is much better than the brewee

When the cafe has to cater to the massive tour groups eveyday, you can imagine what type of food they offer. For the dinner buffet, it was not impressive at all...I could not remember anything I found extraordinaire. However, the chinese restaurant across the hall offers more interesting dishes than this massive western style buffet.

As a loyal Shangri-La visitor I know what to expect from the café restaurants in their hotel. I wasn't disappointed. Very correct English staff very helpful (allergic to some food) and every time warning that in that dish could be something I was allergic to ! Some European restaurants could take an example!!! Price a bit high but you're at... More

The food here seemed to have a lot of options, but if you have any kind of dietary restrictions, it's very difficult to find out what's in something. However, if you don't have any restrictions, then this is a good place to find a big variety.

We didn't eat in the cafe, we ate outside it, nearby the front window that overlooks the pool and beautiful garden. If you're non smokers like us head up towards the grand piano as that is a non smoking area. Lisa who was running this area was very professional, attentive and super friendly. I had Hainanese Chicken (delicious) and my... More

No juice bar, no omelet bar, no noodle bar. Taste/selection was poor. Overall, very disappointing and not what you would expect with such a highly rated hotel chain.
