Their buffet is amazing and the prices are surprisingly pleasant for Moscow. Place is clean and mostly crowded. Here you feel the cozy atmosphere of Russia, staff is friendly and helpful, menu card is nice with pictures.

I have eaten at Elki Palki several times, the last time today. They offer a reasonably priced buffet of Russian hot and cold food, as well as a menu for individual items, drinks and desserts. Their food has been consistently good, service is generally good and helpful, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable.

On recommendation from our hotel we visited this chain restaurant on our first night in Russia. It was absolutely packed with locals. No English on the menu but there were pictures so we ordered by pointing. Staff were as helpful as can be with no common language. I had chicken shashlik and it was excellent. Not fancy food, but tasty... More

Cafe-style establishment with excellent buffet. Traditional Russian food with a great salad bar. Eat as much as you like for 10 bucks. Simple ambience. Good for travellers on a budget and "on the go". Some branches have an attached "kulinariya" - a shop where you can buy by weight everything from the buffet in this restaurant and more ( freshly... First of all, their style and decoration deceive people about their "Russian" food. It's not really Russian, mostly like Soviet "obschepit" (cheap Soviet cafe), salads with a lot of mayonnaise etc. It's not tasty at all. Then stuff is extremely unfriendly, and they look very strange because it's the Tadzhik gastarbeiters wearing clothing in Russian traditional style. Toilettes were not... More

It was the worst thing, we ever did. The waiter were absolutely unfriendly. The food was really bad. Even for Russia, it was out of range.

Great range of reasonably priced food. Would recommend the potato cakes and the fish stew. It's fast food with a difference - no burgers or stuff like that. Lots of home-style cooking. Worth a visit and good value for money in Moscow.

First time in Moscow and looking for a good, cheap place to eat - we ended up at Elki-Palki and what a treat it was! A table containing a dozen or more bowls filled with various salads provided a delicious opportunity to sample Russian fare. The beets, the beans in some kind of yummy cream sauce, the herring, the mushrooms... More

Mainstream restaurant chain where a lot of locals go to (they have outlets all over the city). Tourist-friendly still, as the menu features colour pictures and English translations. Food is not exceptional but very decent, cheap and the menu offers a huge variety of classic Russian dishes. The old-fashioned interior design with fake trees and stereotypical Russian music stage a... More
