Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice atmosphere and it stops there. Asked for the wine list and the waiter brought a two page list. Only three bottles of Merlot were available. The remaking wines in the list were “out of stock” which is an all too familiar familiar phrase in...the Philippines. Ordered a bottle of Merlot and a Baileys for my date. 20 minutes after sipping the wine I summoned the waiter and asked again for the Baileys. 15 min later the waiter brings two bottles of different liqueurs and says the Baileys is out of stock. Ordered two of the same appetizers. One came, the other didn’t. I summoned the waiter and he brought the second after my date finished hers. Among the entrees three were “out of stock”. Ordered the rib eye and risotto. Toughest rib eye I’ve ever had. The gravy was horrible and the risotto was not palletable. The fried mango/apple turnover and ice cream was one of the 5 of 8 desserts. Three items were “out of stock”. The dish I had was quite good. The chocolate cake my date had was much less desirable. All in all after spending over 8,500 pesos it would have been immensely more enjoyable having a 200 peso McDonalds meal. Save yourself much aggravation and avoid this restaurant. Visit Bonde & Burke in Davao City for a much more enjoyable meal.More

I was sincerely shocked when our plates arrived. I have nothing against fine restaurants that charge you for good food, but here, the dishes look ridiculous. I ordered a portobello salad which was supposed to include seasoned tofu and seasonal vegetables, I ended up with...a mount of lettuce, a string of carrot and one of cabbage which seemed to act as a decoration, and a tiny portobello on the side. Oh and a cup of vinaigrette. This for 640 pesos. Even in France I would not have paid that much for this. Honestly, it's a shame. My friend ordered a soup which was more like miso with a small floating fish bite, and the equivalent of a spoon of rice. The bowl had the size of a tea cup. Not to mention the thinnest makis I've ever seen... We could not stop laughing, this was so ridiculous. I would really not recommend this place to anyone...More

I was very fond of the Japanese dishes especially the various types of maki’s as they had a unique flavor and was above my expectations as some were more expensive than the others. The nori pumpkin soup was also rich in flavor and you could...share it with a person or two, it was worth having in a meal and could go into whatever else you ate. Lastly i found the US top blade steak to be the most wholesome out of the bunch as it was served with a special kind of rice. Lastly, i found the whole ambience of the place very formal, it becomes even better at night as you get a vintage sense of feeling from the inside and a cool breeze outside. Overall i recommend eating here for occasional sessions and formal events as it also had private rooms available.More

If you’re looking for a neat, cozy and classy restaurant, this place is your bestfriend. Been here for several times and i do enjoy the set meals (which i think is better than ordering your meal separately). The value for money depends on your liking....The music that fills the space is groovy and classic. The staff are friendly and warm. Theres enough parking space. You can get grab incase you don’t have your own vehicle even if the location seemed like tricky for some.More

We have been there twice given that we were spending the week in Camella residences and we have always been please with the cuisine. Their makis were the best we had in our eight weeks Asian tour and their desserts are fantastic. Their plate presentations...are quite creative what is adding to the pleasure. The onion soup was delicious even though it was served in a tiny cup. Their cuisine is mostly japanese even though it had other influences, Chicken teriyaki was tasty and so was the other chicken plate I do not remember the name. Maybe katsu but I am far to be sure. The ambiance is calm and the overall setting of the restaurant is very nice. You can probably eat on the terrace but we were worrying that it could be very noisy, thanks to the motorcycles, multicabs and jeepneys that are not too far. The service is well done even though it is not that fast. It is also pricy for what we get and it is why I am not ranking it five stars. However, I would return there the next time I will be in Davao.More

Fish and chips, it said. Very expensive fish and chips Delivered a beautiful piece of art, in the form of a tortured fish, sitting atop a pile of chips( the kind you buy as a snack from the supermarket for 10 peso) It tasted OK,...but not special and small fish. I was very hungry when I left Estimated cost of ingredients, around 80 peso tops Cost of meal, around 800 peso Suggestion, more food, less attempts at fancy The building is beautiful, but how you get 4.5 stars is totally beyond me unless it changed owners recentlyMore

We used to frequent this restaurant for celebrating anniversaries, but after a couple of years. We brought some friends from out of town to this restaurant and boy was I in for a surprise. Their air conditioners were down. We finished the dinner with electric...fans to help. To make it worse, this happened again, when I brought my mother and aunt. Though the food remains to be as good as it was before but things like air conditioning in a tropical country is a big deal and must not be overlooked.More

Dined here several times but found my last dining experience too disappointing..The food was still great but seems to be very limited. There was only one server and he was all over the place. I pitied him though but he did his best to accommodate...everybody.. I dont think this restaurant will last with all the new ones coming out. They are also a bit pricey but the food is reasonably great in portions..More

Such a lovely place! There is a different kind of “Welcome feels” that gets into you when you enter the place ... it preserved its ancestral home ambiance but offers a superb selection of excellent fusion dishes! Truly a must try when in Davao!

Had dinner there with my husband the other night. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful ancestral Home. Menu is extensive but a bit on the pricey side. It's a fusion of Japanese and western food. The food was good but not spectacular. The service...was great.More
