Probably Lae International's upscale restaurant as it's separate from the other two restaurants and is only open for dinner Monday to Saturday. The barramundi was competent but nothing outstanding. I'm not sure when the bread rolls were made but they were rocks.

I stayed at the Lae International during a business trip in June 2019. Had my first meal at the City Cafe (thanks to Trip Advisor recommendation) then decided to have the second meal at the hotel restaurant. Ordered the pan-fried Salmon and it was great, both from quality as well as value for $$$. Highly recommended.

Had Fish and chips. Chips a bit cold but overall meal was OK.
Colleagues had lamb racks and chicken tikka which would have been better.
Good service and cold beer.

Good service Pleasant staff attentive.
Burger was well made and portion size above average side order of French Fries a bit cold but well prepared.

We had an experience of inviting our Directors to have Dinner with them. One of the challenge was organising the Tables to allow for a small presentation which was not allowed in the Restaurant. I can understand if it was going to be for more than 30mins but this is just a song and presentation of gifts in an informal gesture of our appreciation of their visit to PNG. We were asked to hire a separate room for the Dinner which will be an additional cost.
Despite that experience, the food was great and the friendly staff assisted us take photos of our staff and Directors.

Jason and his team keep getting it right at Vanda. Nice ambience, excellent food and service that justifies Vanda as Lae's premier restaurant.

The Restaurant based in Lae International Hotel is the first choice for a good dinner in Lae. They offer different a la carte meals and also buffet. Recommendation for you stay in Lae.

The restaurant is very upscale for Lae. They added volcano rock steak which is my favorite. A filet that tastes great and cooked to your liking by yourself. The banana flambé is great it’s not excessive and satisfies your sweet tooth. Atmosphere is comparison to higher end restaurants in Port Moresby the only difference is it is open to the environment so I’m sure it could get noisy. But my favorite restaurant with great food.

After living in Lae for more than a decade, you get to know pretty much most things about everywhere to go.....and the place to go for food is Lae Inter Hotel.
It is exceptionally managed by an enthusiastic GM who takes pride in the every detail of the Hotel.
For the food, the Indian curries are excellent - on a recent trip to Lae colleagues of mine ordered 2 meals each just to try more variety after previously having a delicious korma.
Reasonably priced and a good variety....the pizzas are the best in town and the seafood on a Friday is an institution (make sure you book if you want to indulge on the Friday night as its very popular).
Highly recommend it and worthwhile stopping by 'Jacks' Bar, a sports bar after you have eaten.

Vanda Restaurant located at 1st floor of Lae International Hotel is one of the best restaurants you'll find in Lae.
Especially the friday night seafood buffet is outstanding. A huge variety of oyster, mussels, shrimps, fresh local fish, salads, and much much more will fill your stomach.
It is indeed the most expensive dinner you can have in Lae, but it is worth the money.
But come early (around 6.30pm) to catch all the good things. The restaurants tries to refill, but often it is faster gone than restocked :-)

This review is not for Vanda but same hotel. Not sure how to add a new restaurant and couldn't find this one. So here goes.
Kokomo is the cheaper and more vcasual dining within the hotel. Vanda is upstairs and Kokomo is downstairs. Prices are reasonable. 55Kina full buffet breakfast. But their are other options of buffet excluding certain items like fruit for less. Also they have ala carte options like waffkles or pancakes for around 30Kina.
Breakfast is nice and the setting is nice. Staff are friendly but orders can be slow at times.
Lunch is mostly ala carte but also has indian food buffet for 65Kina. They have an Indian menu, and a specials menu. The BBQ beef burger for 32Kina was exceptional. Buttered chicken tastey too.
Dinner buffet was 75Kina. Generally an all indian affair. Fridays had seafood buffet but needed to go upstairs to Vanda. Ala carte was same as lunch mostly, but some additional items like seafood plater or chicken parmigana.

Great meal in a lovely setting.
Food and wine service good. Wide menu choice for both food, wines and port.
Good comfortable seating. Strange cutlery that is not easy to use (particularly the knives) however it looks the part.
Meal relatively well priced for fine dining.

Had dinner recently and they gave us a jumbo prawn which was not fresh and was immediately replaced ( good service ). Ordered the recommended T bone: tasty but over cooked ( should have returned it but didn't ). The lobster was good and washed down with an old bottle of Aussie Pinot Noir ( 2005 which was quite good and I am sure this is really left over stock! )

Fine dining and great service. I needed to work thru dinner recently, so the staff set up a table near a power point in the upstairs restaurant under one of the stronger lights and made sure I was comfortable…
Great service – the food was brilliant and reasonably priced, even for PNG as was the margin on the wine – all good.

This restaurant does a pretty impressive seafood buffet every Friday night. Cost is 85 Kina (about $40 AUD) which is a top price. I started with a whole lobster tail and went from there! There was also eye fillet steak and the deserts were outstanding too. Service was good, which is not always the case in PNG. Entry is via the front reception of the Lae International Hotel. Bookings are recommended but I just walked in and they seemed to have problem fitting me in. Enjoy!
