Zlata Praha is not the best Czech food ever, but they do a good job. It's traditional, hearty food with a great beer selection - of course. I really recommend sitting in the garden out back to really elevate your experience. It's a quiet place to lounge and enjoy traditional Czech cuisine - difficult to get in the USA!

I came with my family for a good Czech beer and knedlo-vepro-zelo (dumpling with pork and sauerkraut), and before going to NYC, I checked Zlata Praha web site. I didn't see on it any note that the restaurant closed. I was surprised to find a Bohemian pub at the address at which Zlata Praha used to be. We went to... More

We came all over from NJ to have lunch here. We stood at the front door and we find out the restaurant is closed for renovation. They should post is on their website. I will never ever come back here again.

This is our second stay in NYC and we made a special visit to Astoria to eat here. Both the food, beer and service were perfection itself. If you like Czech food and drink treat yourself to a meal there! Only tip if traveling by subway its the 3d stop before the end of the line not the last stop... More

My four grandparents emigrated from what was then Czechoslovakia so I was raised with Czech cooking. What a joy it is to have an authentic Czech restaurant in Astoria! Dinners are still a great value, but the lunch special is amazing. For $6.95, you begin with a soup. Some of the featured soups range from lentil to tripe (my favorite).... More

The cozy restaurant, decorated with folkloric clothing and Czech tools, has now added lunch specials; $6.95 for a cup of soup, choice of main course, dessert and coffee or tea, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. We revisited on weekend to try regular menu and we were again surprised. The place was fully occupied and meal was hearty... More

We went here with another couple. Was totally disappointed by the food, I wouldnt even call it average (we tried some of the traditional czech entrees as well as the fried cauliflower). I dont recommend any of it. Service was EXTREMLY slow, 45 minutes just to get appetizers and drinks. Thought the waitress was friendly, she was clueless and seriously... More

All I can say is "Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares." Let me start by saying I can not understand for the life of me how anyone can give this restaurant positive reviews and stars. Zlata Praha was beyond horrible. My husband and I took our 2 daughters and their boyfriends out to dinner this past Saturday night. We should have known... More

Pretty decent Czech food, although it's definitely not as good as Koliba, just a few stops away
