Food was awesome, halal, delicious, priced right, and the people are unmatched. Definitely one of NY's finest Afghani food.

The food is really good. Plain but good. I am not schooled in the intricacies of Afghani food, but it seems authentic. It is a pretty bare bones restaurant, but you won't be sorry with the meal.

The lamb kebabs are to die for. First time I ever eaten Afghan food and liked it. Portions are generous and tasty. I will like to return to this place on my next trip to NY.

Had the lamb tikki kebab, which was served with rice and a small salad. It was very delicious! It came quickly. The service was great! Overall I do recommend.

This is a great restaurant! The food is delicious, the portions are huge (seriously, they give a lot of delicious rice with the entrees, bread, and enough meat for two unless you're really, really, hungry). I've tried a number of vegetarian and meat dishes and have liked everything, although my favorite is the fish kebab. The service is different than... More

So, my in laws took me here for the first time the day after I got married. 5 years later, we come here for all special occasions. I have even converted my own parents into ordering takeout from here. Have tried many other Afghani Kabob shops all over Queens, Manhattan and New Jersey, and none are as good as this... More

I visited this place for a snack: ordered the aushak, which I've had at probably 4 or 5 other Afghan places on the west and east coasts. This was by far the best: tender thin-dough dumplings, plump with scallions, with delicious yogurt and tomato sauces. Large portion well worth $6. I also ordered a $2 yogurt drink with cucumber -excellent,... More

Ate there for lunch. The place was empty and they acted like they would rather not have me there either. Food was good, but nothing special. When you factor in the price (about $11) of a normal lunch entree, I am a little disappointed. All in all, if you are close by, stop in. If not, don't make the drive.

Lamb is slow baked for hours and falls off the bone. Raita is spot on. I found it out of curiosity to see what was at the end of the N/W train. Just before the last stop was Balkh Shish Kabab. I tried it and have taken most out of town visitors since. It is esp right when you are... More
