Sunset Grill, as the name suggests, was by far the prime spot for an evening meal. It was too windy to eat at one of the outdoor seats on the deck listening to the waves crash but the half dozen indoor tables are at the edge of the deck also and with the windows open, it was just as pleasant. We ordered the “Surf & Turf” meal for two and it was arguably the best meal we’ve had in years. The size of the Maldivian lobster was impressive and the steak just melted in our mouths. Service here was top notch. When our baby couldn’t sit still at the restaurant, they offered to move the meal to our room. Overall, a fantastic experience despite the sky high prices.

We had a truly excpetional expereince here with new head chef Christian offering us a "chefs table" of new menu items. Loved the duck starter and for main the seafood pasts was extremely tasty. Sat out on the deck over the water remains truly magical.

The restaurant opens at 7pm, just right for the sunset. As you can't reserve a terasse, you should arrive 10 minutes before opening. Then you should havr a good chance to get one of two terasses facing the sunset.
When it is according to the staff too windy or rain might come, they do not allow you to sit outside, even if you take the full responsibility about getting wet. This is why I rated it with a 4 instead of a 5.
From the 5 terasses you have a great view from the table into the water to observe the fishes and little reef sharks.
About the food: it is fish an meat with sides. I could not find a main course which is vegetarion. But I am sure that if you ask in advance you can get a vegetarion main course. At the end it is a Conrad which is very guest focused (except about the sittinh outside policy ;-).
The quality of the cooking is meeting the expectations. After 9 times returning to the island the food quality stayed on the same high level.
So, if you are not an outside-sitting freak like myself, you do not mind the drawback I described above. Then you can consider it a 5 rating. If you love to sit outside, than you habe the uncertainty if it will happem because the crew could tell you that tje wind isntoo strong or the rain might come, also you can't reserve a terasse. There is only one trick to do that, but I'll not disclose it here 😉

Went there twice, for tuna steak (wanted medium but got it well-done), and lobster. On both occasions the overall experience (service, ambiance) were great but the food quite underwhelming

You need to order the risotto and the lamb chops. They are simply amazing!! The ambiance is wonderful. You also have a view of the Ithaa undersea restaurant... Do not miss this restaurant and be sure to make a reservation.

Had a superb meal here. The Seafood chowder is a suerb starter if you like that sort of thing and the location is just divine. We saved it to our last night but perhaps should have gone earlier in our stay

The food is great AND the portion sizes are actually reasonable. We ate at Sunset Grill twice while at Conrad and were not disappointed. Got the ribeye both times. The steak was 9-10 oz and the sides were quite large so we did not leave hungry. We had NO room for dessert. You also cannot beat the view here.

If you appreciate seafood for dinner try the scallops or the lobster. Always very good catch of the day or tuna from the grill. If you love meat, try the Surf and Turf.

We had a dinner in Sunset Grill with a set menu and a bottle of champagne. The food and service was amazing. Definitely i can recommend it for a nice romantic dinner if you are in Conrad.

It was a cloudy day and we missed the sunset. For sure the sunset is very beautiful. That night a bit windy but still good to sit outside to enjoy the nature. Good food with good service becos it’s Conrad. No sunset view but can be in the Indian Ocean seeing many fishes around us to make us both so happy. Good place to hang around for a casual dinner.. enjoy!

Good place for all day dining. Alam was our waiter and did a spectacular job of taking care of us. Everyone in the restaurant is friendly and helpful. Chef made our dosa to perfection while making great jokes. Gotta love a chef with adorable sense of humour.
Overall loved the atmosphere, food and staff.
