We walked to this restaurant from our Hotel - The Eastern and Oriental. It was about a 15 minute walk and quite easy to find using google maps on our phone of course. When we arrived, we were delighted to see that the restaurant was quite full with local families which usually means that the food is good and it... More

Located on the side road beside Red Rock Hotel in a terraced house. Delicious home cooked style Nyonya food. Service of excellent and the lady boss was patient in serving us and explaining the dishes despite almost at closing time. Everything we ordered was delicious and well-executed. Nothing to complain about but just lack that extra magic to get a... More

Went there with my siblings and our children on the 7th day of Chinese New Year. The family-run restaurant is located in a small but decent shophouse. We opted for the 6pm dinner instead of the next one at 7.30pm to avoid the crowd and get parking. There is a steady flow of regulars and tourists. The food is not... More

This cuisine is a fusion of Malay and Chinese dishes reflecting the cultural heritage of the owners. The curried fish on particular was exquisite as was the pork belly. The Oral Otak is their speciality and is highly recommended. There is a very authentic ambiance about this restaurant that is complemented by the delicious local smells that greet you the... More

This mix of Malaysian Chinese cuisine, which is called Nyonya, is delicious. The service is fast and friendly. And they have Carlsberg.

Located just beyond the Nagore area, this is a small restaurant that serves up a very delicious range of nyonya cuisine. Our group of 6 allowed us to sample a range of their menu, so we had some local staples (lor bak, fish head curry), to the more interesting (wild boar rendang, fish stomach curry). The anchovies appetizer was yummy,... More

Although I have enjoyed Nonya cooking in Singapore, KL, Melacca and George Town, I would never claim to be an expert, however many times I try it. Our return to this brash, simple, noisy place after a few years was based on a memory of authenticity and a strong local clientele. And it was just the same! Friendly staff who... More

Saw many celebrity photos on the wall and thought this place was very popular. Although the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night, my singaporean friends and I found the food average. We had the Ayam ros, sambal udang petai, Asam pedas, fried sambal kangkong, chap Chye and the pickled onions with crispy anchovies. The Ayam ros was the most... More

Lovely service and good recommendation of dishes by the lady-in-charge. The Assam Pendas was amazing; Tau Yew Bak was awesome and Pork Trotter's Soup was like what my mum used to cook too, so that brought back good memories.

I am a former Penangite so my taste bud for authentic Penang food is rather picky. This restaurant serves quite good Penang food compared to other restaurants which have become "halal" these days ie no pork dishes. Ambience is homely and pleasant. I brought 4 Singapore friends with me and a Penang cousin joined us as she was our chauffeur... More
