The place to go for Chinese breakfast. Dimsum carts are peddled table to table and you simply point them out. Very very good, tasty, and inexpensive. It's not surprising that the place was quite packed.

I'd never been to this kind of restaurant before. You sit down at a table and order some tea which you can top up with hot water as many times as you want. Then you either order from the menu or get some dim sum, chinese buns or pastries from the carts that circle around the tables. The dim sum... More

Excellent Taste in every dishes we ordered...in reasonable price. It's not difficult to find this restaurant but u might have a several queues before getting a table, anyway it's worthwhile to wait.

The restaurant has a nice ambience even though it has no air conditioning. Service was prompt and friendly. More importantly, the food was delicious and the place looked clean and hygienic. The prawns and mud crabs were fresh. Will definitely recommend my friends to come.

Too bad, I'm alone if not, I'll be able to order more! Only had char siew pau, lou mai gai, shrimp dumplings, siew mai and a cup of chrysanthemum tea. Quite nice and the staffs are very friendly.

Although not to be categorized with be best dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong, or large Chinatowns around the world, Tai Tong Restaurant serves quality food and offers an adequate variety of dim sum. One of the reasons for this quality is the large number of diners, which requires that the items be constantly prepared, thus ensuring their freshness. We... More

Found this spot on some blogs I read before coming to Penang and as I'm a big dimsum fan, needed to give it a go. It didn't disappoint as we had a great selection of dishes for very little money. Definitely a stop on the Penang foodie trail!
