Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Other reviews recommended the seafood bowl, but I wanted to try a variety of things, so I looked for some recommendations for nigiri sushi. I think all of them are at a slightly higher level than Kaiten Sushi, which serves fresh ingredients. After all, it would have been better if the seafood bowl was a reasonable one and not a special selection.

This spot is great for lunch or dinner. Delicious sushi. You can order individual dishes or set meals. The mushroom soup was full of different types of mushrooms.

The foods are nice. We like the sushi, grill salmon, fry corn and various soups. However, most of the foods r raw n not suitable for small kids

Exceptional sushi at a very reasonable price. When I got there had to wait even on a Sunday evening so clearly popular. English menu available.

This is a good sushi restaurant. It opens after 5 p.m. The sushi was good, but not excellent. Service was OK, but I think they have seen too many tourists. The scallops were definitely the highlight of the meal.
It's located on the first floor of the Alaska building so it's easy to find. I thought the servers were a bit jaded. Although we thought food was pretty good, we probably wouldn't go back.
Please note...Aomori is a cruise ship port. So I'm only posting reviews of tourist restaurants. If you want to find good locals only sushi restaurants go three or four blocks south of Sunmachi Street. Better food there. However I will not cause the local patrons of those restaurants to suffer the indignities of cruise ship tourists by posting their locations in a public forum

Loved this excellent sushi place. Easy to reach, 10 min walk from JR Station of Aomori, on the main street. They have an English menu with photos, we ate various sushi for 1,500 yen each and it was a good full meal. We loved a huge Unagi (grilled in soy sauce eel) for 500 yen, delicious. The sushi with marinated in sake octopus was great, as well as subtle marinated scallop sushi.
Cannot but recommend this place!!

During a three week trip around Japan, this was our favorite sushi place. The food was delicious and generous in portion.

This place was recommended by our friends that live in Aomori and it did not disappoint. The staff was very helpful and the place is clean and welcoming. Like many Japanese sushi places they have the touch screen ordering as well as a laminated picture menu which made placing orders easy for non-Japanese speakers such as myself.
The uni was from Hokkaido and was on the specials for the day - it was amazing! They had a cheaper version that was served with salmon eggs that was good, but not as amazing as the stand alone Uni. The otoro and chutoro were highlights for me as well, and we were pleasantly surprised by the raw quail egg / maguro sushi. For 6 adults and two kids the lunch bill including beer was a little over $200. Considering the quality of the sashimi plus the amount we ordered I felt that was very cheap.

We had dinner at Sushidokoro and it was a good choice : we were seated at the counter and ordered single pieces sushi from a clear enough english menu. We also tried the natto-sushi , a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans, which has a strong flavor and smell. Unfortunately the restaurant closes at 10 pm, last order 9:30, that's quite early.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit here immensely. We sat at the counter and had the ¥2100 yen special lunch. With excellent uni, toro and crab included in the ten piece sushi, tempura, chawan mushi (savory custard with ginkgo seeds and chestnuts buried in its creamy depths) a small dessert and coffe included for the price, it was an excellent experience. Chefs were very pleasant though I doubt they speak much English. Highly recommended. On the corner of the Main Street out of the station, about two blocks away, it's easy to spot with its red sign out, and located on the first floor of the "Alaska" building. (Look up high on your left as you walk away from the station. Avoid the places near the station unless you're going for the Gyosai Market, located about two blocks west and a block south of the station. (Sort of around to the right and back of the complex of large buildings in front of the station.)

Sushii Dokoro Asuka has an English menu; one or two staff speak a little English; very helpful, friendly staff. Our party of 4 had a great time chatting broken English with their staff and eating great sushi during the August Nebuta festival. I recently re-visited this place in October. Great sushi.

Walked to this restaurant from our hotel on previous recommendation on trip advisor. On arrival offered table or counter and chose counter, one young staff speaks reasonable English and also had a menu in English. Good food, Good service, no communication problems here and would recommend if you like Sushi this is the place to go in Aomori, fresh and reasonably priced.
