Restaurant was full when we arrived, waited for 15 minutes to be seated. We got a private traditional room to ourselves. 石垣屋 , one of the bests in Ishigaki for Ishigaki beef for great value ~

We visited during off season. We were the only ones at the restaurant during lunch. Enjoyed a tasty Ishigaki beef lunch. There was some renovation work going on which I had hoped they would avoid when customers are at the place eating.

This literally could be among the best meat I have ever had in my life! The steak contains adequate oil equally spreading all over. The shrimp, chicken and other parts of the beef were all good, too. Set of courses ranges from 4,800 to 25,000 yen (plus tax). A bit expensive but totally worth it. The ambience of the restaurant... More

A bit smokey in the restaurant but understandable since there are grills on every table. We had a private room for 5 adults and 4 small children. The menus were offered in English, Chinese and Japanese. They thoughtfully provided mini chairs for the children (the seating is on the floor with a cut away section for your legs) as well... More

This is a restaurant in the style of a Korean barbeque, yet it’s also quintessentially Japanese. You order and rare beef or seafood is delivered, and you grill tableside. The place is busy and has a main communal dining hall as well as separate rooms for private parties. When you come here, do not miss the Ishigaki beef sushi. Slices... More

A very lovely place with individual little rooms for your dining enjoyment. The appetizers were delicious. Then the uncooked meats start arriving (soup, rice and veggies too). The big, beautiful shrimp were ALIVE!!! poor little things on the plate squirming around. You are to cook them on the open flame (middle of the table), Japanese style I guess... not my... More

Call for a reservation (ask for English if needed) and enjoy a nice private dinner of chargrilled Ishigaki beef! The local prawn were also delicious, but mine came out still kicking. They literally tried to jump off the grill. :) I've never cooked anything alive before - great fun! The local sea grapes are must-try also. English menu available. Short... More

We stumbled across Ishigakiya while searching for a good restaurant to go for some yakiniku. Ishigaki beef is meant to be one of the best wagyu in Japan so while we were on the island we decided we have to try one of the best. Ishigakiya did not disappoint. The restaurant is situated near Aeon Town just on small road... More
