This is tucked away on the side streets, but not hard to spot since it's the first stall around the corner. The noodles are standard, and are not as firm. Soup is pretty good in richness without being too salty. I find their egg lacks the standard of a good ramen though. Would say it's above average but wouldn't call... More

Best part of Taiho ramen is the soup. Delicious. Noodles are a bit thinner than other places, but quite good. Pork is sliced thinner than I like, but the flavor of the soup makes up for that. Great atmosphere, fun place to go.

Soup base and noodles are good, but you only get a slice of egg and 2 thin chashu. Dumplings are tiny like a quail egg. Which is a lot smaller than other Ramen restaurants which serves it in larger quantities, like serving large dumplings that you could find easily in Fukuoka. But if we spend a bit more money and... This ramen spot is different from all the others in a good way! The fatty pork broth with crunchy pork bits was superb and the only ramen shop I've tried that has this! Condiments were also available..make sure to put lots of garlic, sesame seeds and a bit of ginger. Would definitely come back!

Ramen slightly above average, the soup was thin on the top and very grainy on the bottom. The noodles had a similar texture and taste to the ones you buy in a Japanese supermarket. The extra "tamago" egg I ordered for my soup was ice cold - personally I prefer it to be same temperature as the soup.

For locals, it is not Ippudo that has the best Tonkotsu Ramen but rather Kurume Taiho's Tonkotsu Ramen is the top choice. Though the main ramen shop is located in Kurume City south of Fukuoka, this place did not fail to meet expectations. Chose the Mukashi Ramen with pork cracklings, the broth was truly marvelous and is the tonkotsu soup... More

We do not think the ramen here was good. The broth tasted a bit strange and the noodles were very ordinary. I have not tried Taiho's original restaurant in Kurume but this one is definitely bad. If the one in Kurume is good then this store is just riding on the brand name. I think that even the ramen we... More

Husband and I ate dinner here at about 7pm. Enjoyed wonderful ramen and gyoza. dress yours up with some of the extras on the table (chili oil, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds) and you'll be amazed anything this "cheap" could be oh so good! In the United States ramen gets a bum rap (the food of poor college students and kind... More

Visited as a couple for lunch on a Saturday. As described in the name, this restaurant is located in Tenjin. It is pretty easy to find, just off a bridge connecting Tenjin to Nakasu. Taiho is a prestigious ramen chain in Kyushu originating from Kurume. Because of its popularity, they opened a store in Fukuoka, saving travellers the need to... More

Recommended by locals for the best of the local specialty Ramen Noodles. A small corner shop on the main street used by the locals for quick good value meals. Ordering is done from a vending machine with small pictures. The locals were very helpful interpreting for us. We visited here twice for lunch during our time in Fukuoka. Both times... More
