This restaurant specializes in Eel and boy is it delicious! It can get very full so try to delay lunch to around 1:30 pm so that you won't have to wait for a table. One order of 6 pieces is good for one person only. Didn't get to try other dishes because unagi is what they are known for.

Established in 1873, This restaurant served all about unagi. The location was close to my hotel in Canal City. I went there around 16.30 and had to wait for 30 minutes due to long waiting list. I ordered a set menu of grilled unagi (the signature dish) with rice and soup. The quality of unagi was premium. They grilled it... More

The unagi here is ok. For the price you paid. The eel served here are from farms and thus the meat is a little soft as compared to eel caught in the wild.

The unagi, eel dish here is so delicious. Crispy, flavorful, very well cooked. Very popular place so it is better to make a reservation, otherwise the wait could be pretty long. Be aware that credit card is not accepted, cash payment only.

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. I had the best unagid in kyusu area. They even sell their sause to go. it is very packed during weekend so I recommend to go during weekdays. I also recommend unaju instead of unagidon. it just tastes better

If you like unagi, this is the place for you. The eel is grilled until it is crispy on the outside but yet soft and tender on the inside. It id simply delicious grilled with no sauce or accompanied with their famous caramelised sauce.

Very tasty eels and luxurious atmosphere of the restaurant. Expensive but worth every penny. Approximately 40 - 50 US $/person. You may need reservation and they accept only cash. Great experience and unforgettable yummy foods!

I'm an unagi lover and the unagi here definitely lived up to my expectations! We arrived 10 minutes after opening and had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. The queue forms fast, so be prepared to wait a bit, however the line moves pretty fast too. Ordered the set with 4pcs of unagi, it filled me up fully.... More

We ordered the deluxe (6 pieces, 3K+ yen). The unagi was good, but not the best that I had. The unagi was somehow crumbly and the grilled taste was not there. Maybe we went on a bad day but the restaurant was not busy when we arrived. The grilled unagi that we had at Shiraishi Unagiya in the town of... More
