Really delicious and traditional food. Must follow their instructions how to eat the rice. Worth the queue under the sun. Go try it.

Due to limited seats, there will need to wait in line over 1hr to get in notwithstanding after 3pm. The tasty for me is not impressed but the service is quit good as Japanese style. I am sure you can get full after eating their meal. Thus, if you dont have time to wait, leave yourself more time to explore... More

I ordered the chicken with the pot of rice. There was very little chicken and it was not worth the long line and wait. However I purchased prepared food every day at the Nara train station where there is a grocery store that sells a very wide variety of individual dishes with lots of cooked vegetables so if you are... This restaurant is on the way from Nara park to the Nara station, closer to the park. We ordered the combo rice with oyester, shrimp, and eel. However the eel was not as tasty as last night's Edo.

I went in the evening when the queue was much shorter. Food was OK. To my western taste the delicate flavour seemed bland, verging on plain boiled rice. Service was good.

I went here after visiting the Todaiji temple. They specialize in very delicate rice dishes. They don't pummel you with flavor, but have a delicate and sophisticated texture. Its basically the opposite of Ramen. I would recommend it if you are looking to get the full range of Japanese foods and flavors, but at the end of the day not... More

We came here to try kamameshi for the first time and totally love this dish. Simple rice and seafood ingredients make such delicious taste, beauty of Japanese cuisine. The set comes with side dish, pickles and soup as well, the portion is quite filling and very satisfying. Expect to queue and prepare to wait as this restaurant is extremely popular,... More

Ate here with my family. We each ordered a set. I ordered Set A. We also ordered yakitori and oysters. It was really good. Worth the 30 minutes wait in line.

Waited for about 30 mins to got a table, then got a small pot of mixed rice to eat. The taste was on a light side but it was quite delicious.
