Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was round the corner from the hotel we were staying in. We called in for a late breakfast before a walk along the old Tokaido road. We had the pig in blanket and the roll with bacon and cheese. Both delicious. As was the...coffee. We took a lunch box with a toasted sandwich and ratatouille. This was also really tasty. We are returning today for our last breakfast before we move onto Kyoto. The lady running it is lovely and so helpful.More

Megumi runs a lovely little cafe with plenty of freshly baked treats. We had breakfast here and she helped us plan out our day, she even gave us a map. Really recommend.

We hiked uphill from our rental in the windy drizzle and it was worth it! The daily selection today was fantastic, a bagel with bacon and egg over easy, cinnamon rolls, and pigs in a blanket with just enough whole grained mustard. The food was...so good we didn't get a pre photo! We sat outside (work says we can't eat inside with the pandemic) and the front porch was dry and had two tables and a low table with seating perfect for a hot drink and a pastry. They open at 8 currently thoughMore

We stopped in on a rainy morning for breakfast and had the place to ourselves. We chose the curry and soup/bread/sausage/egg combo and they were both fantastic! Fresh warm bread, creamy potato soup, and an egg cooked to order. The curry was very satisfying and...had vegetables, beef, and pork served with white rice. There were some nice pastries available to take to-go as well. The owner was welcoming and memorable. If you are looking for breakfast in Hakone this place hits the spot!More

We dropped by after a walk with our dog on a hot, muggy day. We were looking forward to this place after reading all the gushing reviews. On reaching the place, we were told that the seating area for dogs with guests has not aircon,...not even a fan. We thought, we’ll, if we sit outside on the terrace, we can at least catch a breeze. But alas, we were ushered into a dark, dank “additional room” that was both hot and looked like an activity center in a 1950s asylum. Spooky! We made a quick getaway and found a much better dog cafe nearby. Take the hype with a grain of salt; this place has problems.More

We stopped at this little place and ate a yummy lunch of soup and pizza bread on a chilly rainy day. The restaurant is cute and comfy and the service was great!

Located just north of the Gora stop, Paseo is a delicious spot to get breakfast. Freshly baked bread, home made soup, and fresh juice makes this place a must go. Service is great.

This is a cute little cafe attached to a florist. The owner was very friendly. We had a breakfast set consisting of soup, bread, jam, egg, sausage and choice of drink. The bread was freshly baked and delicious. We didn’t eat the pastries but they...looked good. Would highly recommend a visit.More

Paseo is a wonderful, little place within walking distance of the Hyatt. We got there early and were able to get a table for four without waiting. We had the breakfast set with homemade bread, eggs, bacon and a delicious creamy potato soup. The owner...is a very kind, friendly woman who makes all the breads, Her English is very good.More

This is right next to the Hyatt and a great option for those who want to try somewhere different. It's very reasonably priced and a charming place. The owner, who speaks good English, made me feel very welcome. She bakes breads and buns each morning,...so -- after enjoying my egg and sausage breakfast -- I brought some chocolate buns back to my snoozing partner. They were sticky and delicious. We also went there as a larger group for lunch, and really enjoyed the Burdock root pizza (sweet, cooked with carrot and sugar), mushroom salad and curry. Really worth a visit.More

You’ll find this lovely café right near the Hyatt and Green Plaza Gora hotels. Charming deco, excellent food and drinks (try the homemade blueberry vodka). We also recommand the place for the kindness of the lady who runs it.

We were staying at the Hyatt next door and looking for an alternative to hotel breakfast. Paseo was a very small shop with 5 tables. The service was very friendly and the homemade stuffed breads were great. We had a regular bread, a bread with...bacon and cheese, a bread with blueberry and cream cheese and a bread with sausage and mustard. If you're in the area we would highly recommend a visit. Well worth the walk over.More

We decided to tackle the route very early to beat the crowds and while waiting for the funicular at gora, there were no cafes open for breakfast. After a quick google, we found this place was open from 7am so we got the first funicular...at 7:40am and got off at Naka-Gora. It’s not difficult to find as it’s right next to the Hyatt. The set breakfast is the perfect way to start off your day, you can then get back on the funicular, ready to do the cable car at 9am!More

We were staying at the Hyatt and thought we’d try this charming little restaurant next door for breakfast. We are so glad we did. There is only a small menu but the food was delicious. There are many homemade cakes and pastries on offer -...we bought some cinnamon buns to take on our journey. Our only regret was that this restaurant wasn’t open for dinner as well. The staff are very helpful and friendly. If you are in the area and they are open do give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.More
