Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located in Otaru Denuki-koji which is opposite one end of the Otaru canal, we had an amazingly yummy and fresh seafood lunch here. Small eating area with only 12 seats available, there is a sign asking that patrons do not share dish but order one dish per person. We ordered one deluxe Kaisendon with seven types of sashimi and another with just crab, roe and salmon. Both were just as delicious. The soup was also different as it was made with a crab base. After eating here at Sawasaki Suisan No3, we realised there was also Sawasaki Suisan No1 and No2 just metres away in the same compound. Not sure if they all serve exactly the same foods.

Great food, very authentic Japanese seafood dining experience. Quite pricey, a bowl of don with generous toppings for 5000-6000yen. We came on a rainy day, boss was very friendly and warm. Showed us notes with many guests’ comments. Loved the experience!

Food was awesome. The crabs especially be sure to try them out. Prices were a tad steep for the portion size though.

The picture says it all, what else should I add? I was a cold, snowy night and I bumped into this place mostly because of the cook, an unusually vocal Japanese who obviously wanted to have fun with his customers while preparing their orders. And, as much as I did not understand a single word he was addressing to me and only managed to place my urchin order with one of the very few Japanese words I know, the taste of the dish took over and that was it!

The food in this cosy 10 seater shop, is delicious, and very satisfying. I ordered the cooked crab kaisen don, and was not disappointed. The crab is fresh and sweet. The rest of us ordered the standard set, which was a nice mix of uni, sweet prawns, salmon and crab. Will definitely recommend this little cosy eatery to anyone, who shuns big, commercialised eateries.

Glad to be back on their first day of opening after a period of renovation! Would have been devastated if they were not open. The freshest of ingredients and cheekiest chef!!!

The uni tasted fresh, creamy and sweet. Simply the best that I ever tried. I’m not sure if there is season for the snow crab but since it’s summer now perhaps the snow crab could have been better in winter?

We came as a family of five, baby included. It was wishful thinking to imagine that we could all fit into the confined space of the tiny shop, much less jostle with the crowd who must have undoubtedly heard about the excellent food. The owner saw us out in the cold, baby in tow, and graciously opened up an otherwise unopened adjacent seating area just so that we could fit our stroller and have a meal together. They even offered us hot water to heat up milk for the baby! Food wise, I believe there are enough reviewers to testify about the quality of assorted raw seafood that they offer, so I shall spare you the delicious details. The long queue outside the shop would also give you a clue on how good the food is. Not much else needs to be said. Do cater at least 2 meals with them, even if you're only visiting for a day.

The restaurant is very small which can contain only 10- 12 customers at a time so may have to wait a short while. The location is very easy to find using map provided by trip advisor. It's next to otaru canal. The food are so good. Everything is super fresh. I am impressed in miso soup which is a little diffferent from others. The staff were nice and can speak English.

This is a tiny cafe specialising in seafood. I ordered the seafood rice bowl and was not disappointed. There’s not much room so don’t go in if you have bags and bags of souvenirs.

The portions are generous and the seafood fresh. Just the seating is cramped and may have to wait. It's situated just opposite the Otaru Canal .

Stopped by and the crab was amazing. It was the best crab I have ever had. Would come back if I came to Otaru again.

Hands down the VERY BEST BOWL OF FISH we had the entire 3 weeks in Japan. Ours came piled high with uni as fresh & as best as is possible on Earth, kani the size of your wrist, and ikura enough to have with every bite. The owner of this tiny (6-7 seat) restaurant was among the most exuberant people I have ever met. The restaurant village in which the restaurant is located is only steps from the canal and just down hill from the train station. I'd say this little corner foodie outpost is an absolute must for anyone in Otaru and really anyone in Hokkaido.
