1. Reasonably priced seafood bowls from 1,900 yen to 6,600 yen. 2. Wide variety of seafood with seasonal ones. Must-try are sea urchin, king crab and Botan shrimp. 3. Located inside Sankaku Market of Otaru. Long queues form during lunch hours so better to arrive around 11am or 2pm. Enjoy the freshness of Otaru seafood!

From JR Otaru station, turn left towards the morning market and this restaurant is in the middle. Line was long but moving quickly. The salmon was very fresh, the crab legs soup was good but a bit scrawny. All in all, highly recommended for freshest seafood in Otaru.

It is located in the market just off Otaru Station. I visited the restaurant on weekdays to coincide with its opening, but it was already in line and I waited about 30 minutes. I ordered the recommended tanami bowl. It was fresh and delicious.

Stopped for a quick snack. There was a lot of people. The man spoke some English which helped. Got to eat in the back tatami room with A/C. Had scallop sashimi and fresh uni. Delicious!

Best experience, price is reasonable, not really fancy place as common in Japan, crab cooking time will be 40 mins, waiting line 30mins.. basically worth of time and money.. the most fresh urchin and everything

We had a mega seafood feast here that was super nice. The uni was fresh and the maguro was tasty. We loved the crab soup as well. Definitely worth a visit but it was not cheap!

We were lucky when we exit Otaru Station and headed immediately to the left where the seafood market is around 11 am on a weekday. This restaurant appears to be the biggest with multiple store fronts. Seafood dons of all combination, sashimi, crabs, etc etc all at very good price points. Service was fairly quick, seafood were fresh and delish. For 2 we were stuffed for around 7000+yen including a bottle of Sapporo Classic.

It's very likely you've headed to Otaru by the train. So here's the deal : a) eat seafood; b) walkabout the town, esp Sakaimachidori Street; c) go to the Canal; d) general walkabout the town. As you exit Otaru a Station, with Burger King immediately on your left, you'll see a short flight of steps at your 10 o'clock. Walk up those and immediately on your right is a narrow alley that represents the Sankaku Market. This is where you strike off item (a) on your list, by treating yourself to a fantabulously fresh seafood chow down. Yea, there's a queue...but don't sweat it; it does move, and it's worth the meal at the end of this line. They're pretty well Organised : write your name of the Q-list; whilst waiting, look at menu and place your order (tip : crab do burn is a definite bite); sign-on your wifi and kill time. And before you know it, you're being ushered to the table and within minutes the freshest and tastiest of seafood donburi is placed before you. Me : I washed it all down with an ice cold Sapporo (what else?). After you're fully stuffed, now go about doing the other items, walking it off...but extremely satisfied that you've had a great meal. (Tip 2 : they start at 9am, and done by 4pm...and a late lunch around 2pm gets you in w/o a line).

Really worth the long queue because the sashimi was fresh and it was not pricey. I ordered 3 kinds of sashimi rice bowl and it was delicious! Highly recommended but prepare to wait for almost an hour.

Locate in the local fish market in Otaru. It is Just beside the Otaru train station but we could not see from the main street. There will be long queue in lunch time. It take more than hours. But it worth! The price is not expensive at all. Seafood is fresh and yummy. And the dish decorate was amazing.

Even though I have to wait for nearly 30 minutes before getting a table, the wait is worth it as the seafood don is very good, with me ordering the signature one having 9 different types of seafood. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty, with the most impressive thing being the price. Mine was only slightly more than 3000 yen which is a real bargain. To experience the seafood don in Otaru this restaurant is one of my recommendation for sure.

Located in a small fish market just across the station, find the restaurant with most number of people waiting, write your name on a waiting list, place your order and come back in an hour or so ( I believe the waiting time depends on the season but we waited an hour). You get to eat your fresh seafood bowl at reasonable price, not the tastiest in town but still good, and overall atmosphere, the experience is fun.
