About
About our soba-noodle, We make our soba-noodle from two different types of buckwheat flour. The one is “Jimono-ko”, which is grown in Rankoshi area and Hokuryu area in Hokkaido. The other is “Nami-ko”, which is blend of Hokkaido buckwheat flour and imported buckwheat from North America . Please choose which you would like when you order. The price of “Jimono-ko” soba is a little bit higher, but its great flavour and rich aroma are what make it so special. “Nami-ko”soba enjoys its popularity more than 60 years since the day of our establishment. Without shining sun in summer, fertile and rich field in Hokkaido, and love and passion of buckwheat farmers and soba chef, this soba noodle can’t be exist.

Lucky we called and made reservation before hand or else we gotta wait for 1 hour!
They made really good soba and you can choose whether you want soba made from local flour/imported flour.
Soba sauce for cold soba is really good ( this is important as many soba place has a so-so sauce)
Seatings are tatami style and normal table style!
Restaurant location is easy to find with google map though it’s inside an aisle.
The exterior of the restaurant looks very traditional too!

Come here to eat here in Otaru. It seems to be a famous restaurant. It is recommended to make a reservation or come to eat when the store opens, otherwise you have to wait. The decoration is very beautiful, Japanese style, beautiful. There are two types of seats, with chairs and cushions. There is an English menu, and it also indicates which meals are vegetarian. You can add the sauce according to your personal taste. It is recommended not to add too much at one time, otherwise it will be too salty... By the way, you can only pay in cash!!

I came here because I wanted to eat herring soba.
Around 12:00 on Friday. There were about 6 groups waiting in front of us, so it was quite busy.
Apparently they accept reservations, so reservations are recommended.
The store is a very traditional building and has a unique atmosphere.
I waited for about 30 minutes and ordered beer, shiokara, and herring soba.
When ordering to the kitchen, the tone of voice is quite traditional and there is probably a manual for the restaurant.
The salted fish and beer I ordered were brought to me.
Of course, the main herring soba that followed was delicious, but the salted and grated radish that came with the set was absolutely delicious.
I still want to use it.

I usually stop by 〆 and adjust the train time to have soba shochu with me, but this time it is lunch. It is located a few minutes from the station, behind Nagasakiya. It looks like an old merchant house has been renovated, and there is also a restaurant space at the back of the store that utilizes a warehouse. It has a good throat feel by the Sarashina soba and is full of flavor. Tsuyu is a spicy Kanto style soup. The time of year is especially recommended for new soba.

Old brand meat bakery is delicious
This time it was a little basic food because I forgot to study another special Japanese menu
Next time if there's a chance to come again, be sure to try some from the Japanese hidden menu

When we arrived, there was a long queue and people has to sit outside the restaurant to wait for their turn. Do approach a staff to write down your name before you start to wait. This restaurant has English menu and easy to order.
We order different cold soba noodle and both was great. We also tried the Otaru beer and I like it's light taste too.

What an awesome place to visit and have a meal. We sat on the traditional tatami mat. A little hard on the body if you’re older and not used to sitting on the floor. The food was delicious and some of the best tempura and soba we have ever had. There was a line at the door, but our guide was able to get us an early reservation.

We had a really nice dinner in Yabuhan. This spot caught us by its nice furbishment and the super-friendly staff. Finally the food was super-good. I had one of the sobas, was really good. Prices were okay. Just to mention, we had to pay cash that day - just don‘t know if that was a failure that particular day or it is that way in general.
However, if you have a chance to go there - do it!! You will certainly like it.

It was not crowded (we asked hotel to book for us because of reviews advising making reservations), plenty of seats at 715 pm, perhaps because of drizzle
Menu in English so no problem. 8% tax is added to prices on menu.
Difficult to find even when using Google Maps. Signboard is not in English so we had to ask around. Some service staff in kimonos. Great atmosphere with rice paper square lights and timber frames overhead. The sobas and tempuras were enjoyable, if slightly pricy. We also tasted the soba water which was used to boil the soba. Cash only

Ordered a bowl of curry soba, found it interesting that the curry is the soupy kind. This place serves generous portions of soba and the soba tasted good, but apart from the soba the other ingredients seemed to be insufficient. The little surprise at the end to serve the water used for soaking the soba was a nice touch.

The food, table service, and presentation was excellent here. Overall a great experience for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike.
The menu was easy to navigate, with enough english to get by. The menu also indicated allergens and what was vegetarian and what was vegan, etc., which was fantastic.
The service staff asked all of the correct questions to get everyone’s order in properly and account for all allergies at the table.
The food was brought out quickly and we were given pointers on how to consume each of the dishes, as we had ordered a wide variety. The food tasted great and was portioned and priced reasonably.

We went there for diner, we waited for 20 minutes because the restaurant was full but we really wanted to try so we waited inside! They gave us the English menu that explain the “meal-soba set” so you exactly know what you order and they explain as well the different type of flour etc... (With vegetarian options)
When they serve the meal, they explain how to eat correctly and which sauce to use!!! And right after the hot cold noodle, they serve you a “soup” they drink after and they explain as well why and how to drink it!
True and local experience to try!
Try to come either early or a bit after the rush hour if you don’t want to wait.
