Many local people eat here. The staff is friendly, English menu at hand, price is moderate. The taste is not very impressive. A rather normal taste. Personally i prefer the more full grain like darker soba.

You get the local soba nudels here and the menu is great for a reasonable price. You are also served soba tea once you arrived and some milky-like soba thing in the end. We had the cold tempura soba and the chicken soup. Both where...More

We chose this restaurant because it was in proximity to our hotel plus we love soba without even knowing that Kobayashi Soba is rated so high on TripAdvisor, which we did not consult before eating there. Wonderful family-run establishment with very cordial owner. Delicious noodles...More

Enjoyed hot soba, tempura, duck & raw horsemeat(dont bother-bit chewy). Meal was delicious-esp duck & tempura, both served as side dishes. Soba soup was also light and not too salty. Fantastic main table!

Description
Long established family-run restaurant specializing in local cuisine, especially soba (buckwheat) noodles and tempura. A good selection of local Nagano sake is also on the menu. Come join us for some delicious local delicacies in a relaxed atmosphere... centrally located not far from the station and close to the castle. Please note that we moved from our previous location and are now located in the grounds of Yohashira Shrine next to Nawate Street (Frog Street). We have changed locations as of July 2018 but we still serve the same great food that locals and visitors have come to love. We are open from 11 to 9 seven days a week!!!
